So this should work on simple mobile iphone SE (gen 1) from bestbuy years ago?
I am using it in a Simple Mobile iPhone SE (2016 first gen) purchased from Walmart store 2 years ago. Still works just fine. It is forever locked to Tracfon or SimpleMobile SIM cards, but I'm perfectly fine with that. Smilie

I hope the Verizon SIM will work for my existing Trafcfone Verizon BYOD plan.
My recollection is that Verizon to Verizon transfer is tricky because you need an extra IMEI.

If you're going to buy this DO IT NOW. Last time they offered this price drop it was gone the next day.

Anybody know if I can just add this onto my current Tracfone? I don't have a monthly plan or anything, I usually just buy a new Tracfone like once a year or 2. Ty

So, I am thinking of getting this to use to access Verizon's network only when driving and when having left T-Mo's service area (rural Indiana, it happens a lot). I only want this to hotspot so I can use Waze on my primary phone for realtime traffic/LEO updates.

Is hotspotting permitted?

Yes - I actually used one of these for exactly that same phone.

For those activating new service, I highly recommend joining the tracfone rewards program and use a referral code. A referral will provide generous benefits such as free airtime, text, data and minutes. Search for TracFone code on Reddit.
Note: Tracfone states you must join tracfone rewards within 14 days of account creation and apply your code within that time in order to get a referral bonus.

Yes, you can stack. But you must activate the new sim and instead of using your old sim.

When activating the new sim, select to "transfer" your current plan. All the balance will carried over and the expiration date will be extended 1 year from your current expiration date.

If your current plan came with the locked phone, then note that activating a new sim may disqualify the 12-month service to unlock the phone.

If you have AT&T or T-Mobile then the answer is yes and the process is relatively easy. As you activate it with your current account, you have the option to "transfer" your current TracFone AT&T/T-Mobile number into this new SIM. All your current minutes/SMS/data balance should transfer and be added to the new SIM. Also the expiration date should be extended by another 365 day.

If you have a Verizon SIM or a TracFone branded Verizon phone. DO NOT do it without further research. It can be done, but it is a giant hassle.

Safest way is to activate and ask CS to transfer min/text/data/days from your new line B to old line A keeping line A's number. Confirm all balances with chat before you do it.

Quickest way is to click activate and when it asks you if you want to transfer a number put in your old number. At the end everything should be merged but you are screwed if something goes wrong.

Repped!!

Thanks for the help.

I'm guessing we'll be able to keep the phone number when transferring?

I have the Hotspot option on my iPhone 12 Pro Max (AT&T) and on my iPhone SE 2020 (Verizon). It's relatively new that it's been allowed.
