We got 2 packs of these from Amazon last year - they are garbage batteries. Didn't hold a charge AT ALL. I assume that's why they are 70% off.

BTW, Amazon wouldn't let me return them since I didn't use them to find out they didn't work within their return window.
They have their uses. You probably won't be happy with any type of high drain...but lithium is great for extreme temperatures and long storage.

I use these in my car flashlights, and they work and didn't leak a year later when I really need them. They are also what is recommended for my outdoor Blink cameras that see temps from 15 degrees to 100 degrees throughout the year.

Can I build an ebike with these... is it even safe?
For your hamster, absolutely.. make sure you get liability insurance on that bugger though. Hamsters are pretty rough riders and are known to destroy property if out of their daily route.

Anyone that went and got these where were they located? Were they in a clearance section or with the other batteries?

My guess is you got knockoffs from Amazon, which is nearly impossible at Target. If I can get them, I'll buy all of them. They have 10 year shelf life, which is good for emergencies when I can't recharge my RTU Eneloops.

Side note: I've sent these in various electronic instruments to 110,000 ft. in a high-altitude balloon for years and never had an issue with them. They've survived temperatures as low as -30° F and operated fine. And they all had plenty of charge left as well.

Bingo. I use them in outdoor thermometer/hygrometer sensors and they perform like a dream in all weather temps.

These truly haven't leaked, since moving to Texas a decade ago haven't found a single alkaline except for 9 volts that have not leaked. Lost remotes, mice and almost a front door lock. These are the only batteries I use now because of the others leaking so much
Ok but what does Texas have to do with these batteries?

I'm assuming the hot and/or humid weather. Tends to cause the batteries to leak more than in a more temperate climate. With car batteries also you need to constantly check them every month. I used to only check once a season.

Don't waste your time. I did at 4 different stores. You won't find these. This thread should be closed.

I was able to pick up a few packs in a nearby Target, I had to go around the store to find some.

With high demand for batteries, there is only one reason they ever go on sale... they're heading towards expiration.

Great for my battery-powered Nest CO2 detector. It's a specific use-case but necessary.
Agree. Nest people only recommend these. I tried other brands and they wont work properly.

I found mine up front at one of the checkout lines, where they had a bunch of batteries (way more than they did in the dedicated battery location back in electronics). Specifically, I found mine behind some 12pk AAAs. Best of luck!
