If you're on Verizon it's slightly better to go through Best Buy. They are straight-up giving $300 off the phone with Activation. You still get the $200 Samsung Credit.
TMobile has their own $1000 off with trade-in but it's 36 month bill credits.
Because people here don't understand intrinsic value, here's the way it works: you need to take the value they're offering for your trade-in phone and subtract that from the value you could sell it for.
An example is an iPhone 12 Pro: that phone has an intrinsic value of about $800-850 on the used market. If you trade it in, and they offer you the $450, you actually paid $2,150-2,200 for this phone because you just lost $350-400. They'll just try to trick you because they'll give you a smaller number up front ("You only pay $1,349.99! Tee hee!")
So, don't fall for the scam that these companies push, where they try to make you forget that your phone has value. Any company that pulls this nonsense where the price they present includes the maximum trade-in value included should be avoided, as they're clearly scumbags that are using deception to get you excited about the low price. There's a reason you have to work to find that $1,800 price tag
