I was thinking about posting this too. I had been waiting for a deal on this waffle maker for a while. When I was alerted that it finally went down to $35, I snagged it back in June. This is even a better price!

I highly recommend it. Cleaning it was a breeze and the waffles came out better than either of my two previous waffle makers.

I just wish I hadn't gotten it in June so I could have gotten it even $5 cheaper now!

I bought the Oster for about $15 a year ago, read the top reviews, there is a reason why it's the best selling waffle maker. Easy to use, easy to clean, waffles come out great, and it has been reliable to me so far. I use it once or twice a week with krusteau pancake mix from Costco (just add egg and oil per instructions to make waffle mix). I reuse an old Bisquick shaker bottle to make prepping the batter mess free. Keep the unit at the highest heat setting, preheat until light turns green, pour in the batter, set timer for 4 mins. Perfect waffles every time. Add toppings like maple syrup, Nutella, whipped cream, fresh fruit, and you have a family favorite breakfast that is amazingly easy to make. I never coat the plates with any oil, waffles always come cleanly off, i used to wipe it clean with a wet paper towel when done but honestly find that step is not even necessary unless you accidentally overfilled or overcooked it. The batter expands so there was no need to flip it. The bottom side looks nicer but the waffle cooks perfectly thru out, just serve it bottom side up for picture perfect plating.

I've had two of these. The heating element died after less than 6 months of moderate use. Wasn't worth cost to return under warranty vs buying another using kohls cash. So far the second is ok but if you read the reviews on various sites, several complain of this issue. I like the product when it works and the removable plates are a big plus, but be aware of what seems to be a recurring issue.

Nice. I grabbed one after seeing it posted in the Best Buy thread. I'll pay extra for the removable plates.

What is this nonstick ceramic coating exactly? I don't think it's actually a ceramic? How did they make waffles in the old old days before all these nonstick coating? Did they just use Carbon pans?

Removable plates is THE most important feature in any waffle maker. Ordered one as a future replacement or alternative size/shape to the very good Krups I already enjoy for several years.

It must be the same scam as "Ceramic Copper" cookware.

American waffle, regular waffle, classic waffle or simply waffle.

I also have the Oster, it makes a pretty thin waffle, not thick like a restaurant.
