Please note that according to the Amazon description, this unit can only support a maximum power draw of 1200 watts total. This could very likely explain the damaged units seen in the reviews.

Although I don't tap on ad via Slickdeals app on the iPhone, it acts like I did anyway. I minimize the redirected app (apple iTunes), but then it immediately goes back. Happens often. Annoying. (Old man shaking fist in the air)

I can't speak to melted units or not (luck of the draw? surges? Bad wiring? Overloads? Who knows) but there is a clear 2.4A label, so that means 2.4A shared, in any combination.

Although the Amazon description does clearly call out a 1200 watt maximum power rating, so that could explain the burned units in the reviews.
