It's good, but Duck's HP260 is even better. It has 3.1 mil tape thickness. I'm like a tape professional at this point. I've used a ton of brands over the years.

For any tape noobs. Always remember when applying tape to take a blunt object and press it into the tape and comb over the tape to seal it into the cardboard. The force plus heat generated by quickly going over the tape will cause the tape to adhere much better.

Be careful-- this stuff will ruin you. I can't use cheap packing tape anymore.

Tempted but looking at first 20 or so "most helpful" reviews worries me -- lotta complaints about "slivering" and not sticking. Maybe user error, somehow? Does have 12k+ reviews with 85% being 5-star so I might take the chance. Looks like comparable 6-roll, 54yd refill pack of Scotch (my usual brand) is about $15-$20, anyway.

How are you stacking no rush with S&S?

Whatever you decide to do, avoid Duck "Standard Grade" version. Worst packing tape I've experienced to date. Slivers extremely easily and folds over on itself as it is handled. I've never tried OP's "HD" version so I can't comment on that one.

Mirrors my experience recently (last 3 years) with this brand, at least the slivering bit. I had one roll that I would spend a few minutes "re-aligning", then I'd peel off half an inch slowly as possible and it would splinter again. Repeated this process a few times over before I ended up just tossing it in the trash.

I can't deny user error, but I'm fairly sure it's either the brand or at least possibly the age of the rolls I had, since I haven't had this issue even with hardware store generic brands.

Ran into the same thing, ended up going back and getting a roll of scotch brand and it's working like Duck was supposed to!
