Yes, but you start buying no name brands and you never know what quality they will be or how long they will hold up for. I find a lot of the no names start losing their stickiness after a few months, and you end up having to use triple the amount of tape, negating your savings.

I literally bought some box tape yesterday. There were plenty of brands that were 6 for $12 or even less, even name brands.

Was just gonna say, who buys brand-name packing tape in bulk?

Just looked in my Amazon history. Paid $18.30 for 12 60-yard rolls 3mil thick. It's a random no-name brand, but it's identical.

This is for heavy duty tape, not regular tape. Which name brand has 6 for $12 on heavy duty tape?

On indisputable fact - this is the lowest price in 4 years, which makes it a slick deal for this product.

I don't trust duck tape anymore, it doesn't even stick to itself for very long

wrap something and let it sit for 48 hours and watch what happens

I know what you could wrap for 48 hours to test your theory about Duck stickiness. If you are right no problem.. but...

Its the grade of tape, they make high temperature long term storage tape that doesn't go dry or crunchy

Only a little more

Ive used some no name brands and what I've found is some of them leave behind the sticky residue on your typical hand dispenser which gets super annoying. I've always gone back to scotch heavy duty and never had that problem. I always wanted to try duck brand but I tend to catch scotch deals whenever I can.

Just bought this last week at Walmart. It's probably the best packing tape I've ever bought.

This is a great price for what is excellent packaging tape; one of those products you (usually) don't wanna cheap out on, but depends on what you're using it for. I occasionally trade electronics so skimping out on tape for products that can cost a grand or more is not only pointless but stupid.

For regular stuff that's not valuable nor important, sure, go to the dollar store and grab whatevs. For expensive stuff, this tape in particular is what works for me as it hits that sweet spot in terms of value for price by not being much more expensive (if at all) than regular tape. I just bought this last month for $15 but had to overnight it as I was late getting a package out for a customer, so after tax + one-day shipping I ended up spending $20 for this 6-pack...
Your welcome.

If you just want a one-off of decent tape that is quality but good value, for the average frugal Joe I'd recommend Duck's EZ Start. If you ship a lot, buying a tape gun is worth it; solely preventing tape from sticking together and avoiding the frustration that comes with (incl all the time wasted removing it) made it worth the price for me, JMO. Uline https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FU9SZTY/, FTW.

However, most people will be fine w/ whatever they have, like the Scotch from Costco. Just make sure you go over the tape w/ something after it's been applied. Haven't tried the more expensive stuff like High Performance or Max Strength, as that's outside my pay grade. This is predominantly for people who either occasionally need to send valuable items or those who ship often enough to get annoyed at whatever they're currently using.

I wasn't even aware these type of tape existed. Thanks for the tip!
