If you want warmth I highly recommend you try their Omni Heat Reflective stuff. I thought the silver dotted lining was a gimmick but it's amazing tech. I prefer to dress in layers but even the lighter weight Omni Heat jackets I have make me too warm wearing only a tee in temps above 35°F with low to mild wind. If you spend long hours in the brutal cold outdoors or you run colder, opt for a heavier jacket.
Best of luck.

While probably true (I don't own this) but I don't think it's intended for warmth. It's basically just a packable, water resistant, wind breaker ideal for throwing on in a sudden weather change. Real life uses might include sporting events, beach/boat activities, bbq/outings that last into the evening. Not for winter use by any means. Reviews seem positive.

Please explain. I've had good luck with Columbia products.
I wouldn't be surprised if you could say the same regarding other popular brands. I just prefer to buy from reputable retailers who usually stand by their product. Columbia outerwear and equipment is lifetime guaranteed. I still never shop them without coupons and deep discounts but it's reassuring to have that protection if my jacket or gloves fall apart at the seams. Aliexpress is a mixture of junk quality and good quality merchandise but I can't roll the dice without knowing what I'm getting. Will I be happy with every purchase from Columbia? No. But I don't rely on pictures alone to aid in my shopping decisions. I read the descriptions, specs, technology (as they call it) and also written reviews to make a better educated decision on my expectations before purchasing. With clothing, if you just click to buy based solely on a picture you might be disappointed more than necessary. I recommend Columbia sales to friends that don't mind not having top tier brands. While I appreciate those brands, I have difficulty justifying the extra cost.
I bought the jacket in this post for my daughter because $44 is a great deal for Omni Heat and not much more than what a lesser quality jacket is elsewhere.
Jeez, I sound like a fan boy here but I promise it's just that. I have no affiliation with Columbia or any company for that matter. I'm just a schlub who values money but will pay a little extra if the value (savings) is with it. It's my opinion that the jacket I bought for my kid was just that. Any kids zippered fleece (sleeve or vest) under $20 makes a great mid layer or Fall Sping jacket by the way. Think drafty classroom or walks to colder areas of school adjacent lobby and such. She has both a lightweight and heavier Omni Heat water resistant outer layer jackets, several full zip fleece vests and long sleeve jackets, and a thin rain jacket for milder temps. This ensures me she is ready for school in the ever changing weather and temps here in the north east. I pretty much make sure mom and I have these same basic items in our closet.
Thanks OP!
P.S. there's some hidden gems on Summer Sale that code doesn't apply to unfortunately, but prices are discounted well.

Just seemed low tier quality. That's all. Was 2nd and last time. I lost out in $5 cuz of shipping too. To each his own if one likes it. Just not for me
Gotcha. Agree completely (to each their own). To each there own. I have a Columbia jacket I wore 15 years ago in high school still going strong so I definitely trust their quality of materials.
You're right, sorry. That is WAY too long. I wouldn't have read it either! 🤣
Blue was my fav too. I settled for red and I'm happy with it. Just what I was looking for.
