So this is probably extremely YMMV, but I just lucked into an insane deal at Target.

They had the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller on clearance, and it was marked as 30% off, or $125.

I've been wanting one for a bit so I decided to grab it because that alone would be a great deal.

But then he rang it up, and it had actually marked down to 70% OFF, or $53.99!

Couldn't believe it. So if you're at Target, take a look around the videogame/clearance section.

$125 MSRP for a controller? Are they smoking crack?
Derp, the msrp is $180. And if you can score one for less than the price of a switch pro controller, I think you're doing pretty well. This thing is front page at $120ish. At $54, every store is getting cleared out by the first person to get to them.

You probably got a return that has been returned a few times. I have bought three and they all have had issues with drift immediately and appear like they were used despite being "new in box". I decided to stick with the original at this point.

My first two were crap within a month, but the one I have now has lasted over a year without issue, I'm convinced it's just luck of the draw, but when you find a good one, you're set.

Dunno same price I paid at Target for my series 1 that's still going strong then series 2 came out. Makes me wonder if series 3 is around the corner.

I have the elite series 2, haven't had an iissue yet, did buy the serviice plan because every controller since after the xbox 360 that microsoft has made has been absolutely terriible

I am not someone who rages at video games and throws their controllers or someone who is very hard on the controllers but every xbox 1 controller i've had has been a total POS

So far so good on the elite 2... i also have a razer wolverine ultimate, which i kind of like better, but it is FAR too sensitive for some games (rocket league especially..)

I want to try the new SCUF controller.

I'm hoping the series 2 doesn't fall apart or start drifting any time soon but i'm not counting on it at this point. i knew what i was getting into.

So far so good.

The only gripe about it is the way the custom setup works is very ... non descriptive for the laymen and the way you do it isn't very intuitive.... (radial, true diagonals, axis independent... not something the average person is going to understand without a paragraph describing which each one means)

I am ignorant to this, but why would someone pay 3X the price of a regular controller for one of these? I understand this deal is for an elite for around the same price. Just wondering.

I am probably just not good enough at video games to know the difference.

Elite is just a really well made controller. It has a good feel to it, has high quality components, and has the ability to swap out and customize some parts of it to your liking. This type of argument is similar to why someone would buy a Lexus when you can get where you need to go in a Kia. Yes, they both function and yes you don't NEED a Lexus, but if it's important to you people will spend the money.
