I bought Bifen XTS living in CT several years ago. Supposedly the restrictions were in place then so I don't know how I managed to get it

Eh..... shit kills insect but i believe this is advertise to have lasting protection, it doesn't. It kills when blast on insects but thats about it.

Well, it prevents spiders for quite a bit of time.

Ants are everywhere where I live. Why I hope this put down the perimeter and keep them out. But it didn't work on my ants. I spray on the ants and all around where I find them, they wait til dry and just continue. The one that got spray on also wait til dry and continue.

Decent stuff for the price, but there are better options out there. I switched to a 6% pyrethin spray this year and have been thoroughly impressed by the results. It's made from the extract of some Rhodesian flower so it's a natural product. Unlike most natural products, it works better than anything else I've ever used that is still legal (nothing works like Chlordane).

Something being natural does not make it good or better. Lead is natural but I would suggest not eating it.

Bifen should be longer lasting but also slower action with zeta cy, the second ingredient being more immediate. That said, concentrates and a $10 pump sprayer are a better value and easier on the hand.

I treat the yard/perimeter of my house a couple times a year, probably takes 6-7 gallons each application; I use a 4 gal HF backpack sprayer [harborfreight.com] (works great) and Bifen XTS [domyown.com] concentrate. I might have spent $20 for that bottle 6-7 years ago and there's so much it will probably go bad before I'm able to use it all since such a tiny amount of the liquid is diluted. If you have a smaller area to treat then obviously just get a smaller sprayer [harborfreight.com]

The recommended dilution is 0.33 - 0.67 (1/3-2/3) oz per gallon. The bottle is 32 Oz (you can get a bigger bottle too), which means at the high dilution you could get 100 gallons out of it and the low dilution more like 50. Even if you pay the rate at the above link (around $50/qt), that's at most $1/gal and as low as $0.50/gal.

And the Bifen XTS is great - not a single bug in the house. In fact, I usually spray my foundation and in front of the garage I open the door and just spray the concrete, about a 1-2 ft wide stripe. I will literally find a line of dead bugs (beetles and ants mostly) that are about 2 feet into the garage - they walk over the Bifen stripe, and only get a short distance before they croak.

Note the above also applies to herbicide - I have a pretty big area of rock/patio to do a couple times a year - the largest area about 40-50 (2k sq ft), and I was originally using one of those gallon-sized integrated battery sprayer things - man it took so long and killed my back. So, I got another sprayer (2 gal liked above is about $15, always best to have separate sprayers so you don't risk killing your lawn) and some concentrate - MAN it's so much quicker - the sprayer does a MUCH wider swath and puts out a more even spray that it saves the herbicide too.

This stuff does not work worth a damn. As others have said simply go get yourself the Bifenthren concentrate (I use Bifen IT Google it or look on Amazon) and a good pump or backpack sprayer. At the label's recommended rate a little goes a long way and it runs circles around this stuff. I sprayed a month ago and not a single spider has been caught in our pool since, it's pretty unbelievable.

I do not understand people saying this does not work. I bought a new home a few years ago and noticed ants in the kitchen, basement and upstairs (like really ants, how the heck?). I got this and worked what I felt was fairly fast and then I keep using it around the perimeter and have had no problems since.
