This is a great price for arguably one of the best routers ever made. Even though this is a dual band it out performs the AX11000 triband from Asus.
First off this is a huge router and the range and antennas it has should easily cover a single household without a problem and than some. Second The router itself can be used as part of AiMesh if anyone has any older Asus routers for even more coverage.
When it comes to speed through wireless with proper clients this held the record for well over a year, till just recently, it can output over 1.4Gbps to any device that has proper wifi card. So people who have 1Gbps internet it can take full advantage of that and then some.
For people who dont want a NAS but want to share content, it has one of the fastest transfer speeds on external hard drives out of any router.
If you have a NAS the 10Gig port on the router combo with a 10gig port on your NAS will increase transfer speeds exponentially within network (LAN side).
To add this has a total of 10 network ports 2 10gig ports and you can clearly see your dealing with something very high tech.
The only downside when it first launched it was a little buggy, but all fixed now. Also you have to be a bit network savvy to really configure this for maximum performance as for out of the box its setup for all around compatibility.
if I didnt have the TP-Link AX5700 currently this would be a no brainer on a router I could hold onto for around 5 years. Seeing the new $300 price from B&H my trigger finger is getting itchy.

AXE11000 has 10gb Wifi but only 2.5gb LAN so it is not as great for the NAS files

I still might, have to decide by end of the today cause the $75 off expires tonight. The single X89X should cover my whole house without a problem and I can even use my older RT-AC5300 in the future for a expansion with AiMesh.
The 10gig ports for the NAS is a huge selling point the speed increases are phenomenal over a 1 gig 2.5gig port.
