This is an inverter generator so it is more expensive than the typical generator because it produces clean power and can throttle up/down engine speed depending on the load to save gas.

Can I hook this up to my panel so that it runs the house during outages?

Yes but you need a transfer switch installed to your home electric panel.

2 ways: transfer switch or interlock kit, best to pay pro electrician to install for you to make sure up to city code

Why is there always this question while Google is readily available? "Transfer switch" is the search term you are looking for.
Because people who look at this type post would probably know, how rude.

Because my knowledge of generators beyond the rough wattage I need and that I would like an inverter is pretty much zero. If I googled it it would be "can I hook up a generator to my house" and I'd come across 10 ads 10 things about something related and not what I need and one page saying you need a transfer switch for xyz reasons and I wouldn't even know that any of that applied to me / this generator and would spend another hour looking for my answer.

Being able to ask a question like mine is one of the major reasons people follow deals on SD.

But thanks for being a jerk!

If you want to run your AC you will be a small start device to lower the amp requirements from the AC.

Yes, you can hook this up to your electric panel using either an interlock or transfer switch. It has the 30amp port.
Interlock is cheaper, it's just some metal you add to your existing panel to prevent you from switching on the generator breaker if your main breaker from the electric company is still turned on.
You just connect the interlock, add a 30amp breaker, add a 30amp generator connection box, get a 30amp cable to connect the generator to the connection box.
Turn off the main breaker, turn off all the breakers, start the generator, flip the generator breaker, flip on the breakers that you want to power on one at a time. Don't overload it.

If you don't know what you are doing, just get a professional. No point saving money if you are going to mess it up or hurt yourself.

I believe this should be able to run everything in my house in case of an outage. I'll have to try it out when I get it.

Thank you, do you know if conversion kit stops natural gas flow if there is a problem with generator during operation?

Don't think so.. but surely you would notice if your power went out again and the loud noise stopped. Also, NG would just dissipate since its outside.
