That "upgradeable" RAM has a huge gotcha, present in many of Lenovo's budget models.
Namely, some amount is soldered to the motherboard, usually 4 GB, and only 1 slot is open. This means that if you add more RAM than is soldered, or if the RAM you add is not exactly the same speed (and possibly timing?) wise, then the RAM may not operate in dual-channel mode. It can get complex, so I've made some generalizations here.
This will severely handicap any Ryzen APU system when it comes to things like gaming, but also, anything that hits the GPU hard.
Only buy this if you fully understand the limitations involved.

The only requirement for dual channel is the capacity (4gb), but yes that is still limiting.

It won't be dual channel how much you try it in these.

NOTEBOOKCHECK COMMENTS. "Other aspects of the laptop are relatively underwhelming and more reflective of the sale price. The TN display, limited 8 GB RAM, and small 45 Wh battery aren't going to impress anyone. We've yet to review this specific model and so we can't offer our personal take on it just yet, but we can guarantee a poor display with limited color reproduction based on our experience with other IdeaPad models".
Just how bad is the TN screen? See this review of it with a different internal configuration but the same TN screen I Regret Buying This - Lenovo IdeaPad 3 Review (AMD Ryzen 4300U, 8 GB, 512 GB, 15.6" 1080p) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcAKiNQhMxE

Take a look at the below deal:

This has exact same configuration at $449 but with a 1080p IPS Panel, two user accessible Ram slots, unlike the 4GB soldered memory on this one.
And for kicks and giggles - 1999 high performance laptop: $3,600 - Pentium II 400, 128MB RAM, 14GB Hard Drive.
