Polo Ralph Lauren has held up really well for me. I can't recall if they are a blend.
Penguin brand I like for 100% cotton shirts.
The most basic I usually go is Jockey, which always does the job and isn't as thin as others.
I took a look at these as my son needs some for HS to wear under dress shirts, but the reviews are just horrendous.

I'll only add that I use clips to keep my dress shirts from getting untucked .... and, by proxy: my t shirt doesn't ride-up, under the dress shirt.
As a chiropractor, I didn't like wearing scrubs, so I wore dress shirt and slacks .... but then my shirt tails would come untucked with lumbar rolls.
And I looked dumb tucking in my shirt in front of my patients, AND doing that fifty times a day .... not Cool.
And even if you tuck in the dress shirt, it's difficult, to impossible, to get the underlying t shirt to lay flat, arrr!!
In sheer genius, born of frustration, I took clips that are attached to elastic, stretchy straps, that are used to keep ironing board covers tight to the metal frame:
https://www.amazon.com/Elastic-Ir...07VSPNYKH/
Dollar Tree sometimes has bulky plastic clips, 4 for a buck.
I clip 1 clip at the center of the shirt tail in the back, put the shirt on, grab and pull around/up/under the 2nd clip and strap between my legs, and then attach that second clip to the front tail .... if the strap falls into your left groin, clip to the right front tail, so it pulls the front tail straight
You'd think it would be a bother to have a strap wrapping like that .... but i don't go Commando so my boxers protect my skin from getting rubbed, and it's soon forgotten about.
But the feeling you'll immediately feel knowing that your shirt is down and tight to you is GREAT!! .... even as you put your pants on, you'll notice you don't have to fight your shirttails to tuck then in, especially when keeping the underlying t shirt flat.
While driving and bending to pick stuff up there will be a slight pull, but it won't kill your balls.
You'll look great when you get out of the car or stand back up .... the shirt(s) will stay flat and tight to you.
If the strap is too tight, yes, you'll have to think of how to lengthen it .... I bought a 1 yard roll of the same elastic at Walmart, and cut and sewed a grafted extension.
If the clip fails, your shirt is just too thin. You'll need to sew a small button at the tail of your shirt .... before throwing it away, I cannibalize my old dress shirts for their buttons
No spare buttons? Use your fingernails/fingertips to roll-up the edge of the shirt really tightly, too make a thickening in the material, then stitch that thickened part with needle and thread, to lock it in that shape .... thus forming a small bump for the clip to grip onto.
