i got a lot of ryobi stuff. have two of the larger fans which are great since i can use battery or plug them in. but bought one of these a few weeks ago just to see what the hype was and i can definitely recommend it, even at normal price like this. i just use it on my treadmill since i'm 50 years old and a bit overweight and sweat like a hog on that thing. worth it to me just to keep cool while try to stick around a bit longer for my kids!

I picked up one last time they came in stock simply because of all the hype, and I have a ton of ryobi stuff. I am really happy with this fan. First thing the battery lasts forever, like a full day with 4ah. It's light enough to clip anywhere and the clamp is strong enough to hold on to even small stuff like a folding camp chair, baby stroller, ryobi shelf, etc. I love it for $20.

Now you have a reason to buy more batteries.

probably gonna get smashed for this, but i've bought several no name ryobi knock off batteries on ebay and have had great luck with them. in fact, the only batteries that have actually stopped working for me are the actual ryobi batteries. so if you are looking for cheap batteries, might want to check out ebay

I've found that knockoff batteries can be hit or miss, you have no idea what quality of cells you are getting. Personally, I wouldn't use them for high powered brushless tools but they're great for the lower powered stuff like the LED lights or this fan.

Interesting. How many of each do you have?

I have 15 Ryobi batteries (including a few RECONS) and none have failed. I have yet to buy a third party.

While I like the fan this is regular price, so not a slick deal. It's not even on sale.

It's hard to find it in stock, hence the post.

Same for me. I first wasn't going to get one then I thought this would be perfect for underdash work (mechanic here) so when I finally bit they don't have any. Won't let me ship to store or home. SD effect in progress.

I don't know about knock off Ryobi batteries, but the knock off DeWalt batteries do not hold up for us. On the other hand, my brother likes them for the price, so there are going to be different viewpoints.

The knock offs don't typically just stop, but rather the amp output and longevity drops like the old NiCad used to do. I have a DeWalt leaf blower that sitting on the floor with no restrictions in or out, I use to test new or used batteries for consistency. I have done it enough that the runtime for new DeWalt is 5m 14sec per amp rating as the control and go from there. Sure, I could use a tester for capacity, but the blower is specific to the cut off point and accurately resembles availability to a tool. Always curious, it keeps me out of the bars while I am doing something else.

Maybe try something like to compare the rated capacity of batteries... or not. Smilie ...
