I know that previous AMEX offers didn't allow that, but there was clear language stating that in the terms. I don't see any such language here. However, it is my understanding that Carnival gift cards purchased from Carnival are charged to a different entity then that used for booking cruises (deposits and payments on bookings).

it says $35 off "when you spend $100 or more". so you get only $35 off for anything over $100

Carnival previously and likely still allows you to split payment on multiple cards if you have the offer and several Chase cards. I don't on any of my 5.

Neither do I on my 5 or my SO on her single card unfortunately. Hoping that may change in the future.

UPDATE 9/4/21: I checked again since I was looking for something else in my chase account and saw the offer appear! it might take a day or 2 for it to actually show up so don't give up hope!

Targeted offers are only a "slickdeal" to those that are targeted, otherwise, it's clickbait. For example I have a different Chase Carnival offer that is 10% off, over $100 up to $56 back. That's a deal but most people don't have it. I can still value these types of deal posts but it needs to say "TARGETED" right in the headline.

Travel agent, no, but I am glad to be back cruising.

"Hate" is a strong word.

"Clickbait"... whatever.

In my experience I appreciate any tip I get for a new American Express or Chase deal. I always assume that every offer is YMMV. I suppose that I don't value my time as much as you guys.
