Bought them last time round. Musically they are well worth the price. Only complaint is they heavy so the top bar hurts my head after an hour. Also they use a funky cable that has a wire going to both left and right sides, kinda gets in the way. Ok so its two complaints laugh out loud
I've got a set hooked up to a topping d10 and a THX amp, I think they are fine, but sound like $250 headphones not $800 headphones. You're getting what you pay for here.
The consensus of what I've read on people that have tried both is:

HE-560 has more bass
Sundara has more detail and clarity
HE-560 has more siblance with treble, which some might find harsh

That would make the HE-560 more V-shaped and Sundara Neutral, with the Sundara being clearer with details.

I have an older version 2 for 239 it's a steal. They take a little power to get going but sound fantastic. I have mine hooked to a Mojo.

That's what I'm seeing. They don't seem to be on the same level as the Sundara, let alone in the price bracket higher than the Ananda.

I don't think these are worth 900. Not same level as sundaras. For those with big head and ears, I never find any of hifiman comfortable. They're too round n small for my ears, they tend to be heavy as well. Always a sennheiser head, but they need power to drive. These are very easy to drive n they sound really good.

They definitely are on the same level as the Sundara or even better. I've tried both and even have the higher ended Hifimans. The 560's have a fuller bass but still has impeccable clarity and instrument separation. The only gripe I have with them is the band. Hifiman used to have a lot of problems in regards to the band but with this new type, it is sturdier at the expense of comfort.

To me, these sound like a more refined version of the Hifiman HE-400i. Much better clarity and instrument separation. You will really benefit from an amp with these... don't need to crazy on price for an amp, but a phone, laptop, or desktop just doesn't do them justice.

I've got these in vers 2 and the Audeze EL-8 and Isine 20 with Cypher cable. The EL8s are fuller sounding but these are more resolving. These take way more power to get going. These sound anything but a 250$ headphone. Let's get real here, most Music related equipment is priced higher then the value you get from it above a certain price level. I've seen $100000 speaker cables. I would say they sound $500 the same with the EL-8s.

I agree that they are in the range of about $500 sound wise. I had the Audeze LCD2C and I felt like the 560's did soundstage better but the LCD2C's sounded warmer and more enjoyable. The bass was and overall sound had more heft compared to the 560's. The Sundaras had less heft/fullness to the sound but incredible clarity. I feel like strings sounded better on the 560's. Vocals were better done in the LCD2C's.

Actually, the HE-560 has flat response until it starts to roll off below 20hz. Sundara starts to roll off below 100hz. HE-560 has a lower dip at 2k and a higher 4k than the Sundara. The lower 2k might make the sound less clear but that is not the case. The higher 4k, at least to my ears gives it more air and clarity.
