If these came in heat pumps for this price, would have to give it a try. Interesting design though.

Killer deal, I like mine and it delivers on being quiet. Also the install isn't as difficult as some people make it out to be.

I wanted to love mine, but it barely cool down my 450sq ft dining room and living room. I think it's defective and their warranty department is super slow and took around 3 weeks to finally email me back.

Do they sell air conditioners for windows that slide side ways and not up and down?

Solid piece of equipment, I got one from Lowes for less than $300 a couple weeks back.
It's so strange how the 8K, 10K, and 12,000 BTU models share the exact same case. I have the 8K and 12K, and there is only a 3 lb difference between them!

Great deal on amazing unit. Quiet, easy to install, keeps our home chilly even in 105 degree heat, insanely efficient. At a mere $400, this is a no-brainer, especially from Amazon.

I replaced a Frigidaire unit with the 8000 BTU version of this, and it's so much quieter. If you can afford it, it's worth the price.

Check your state for rebates. Eg MA has $40 rebate.

I have a Midea in a casement window. I built my own custom fit frame with double pane plexiglass.
You can also find off the shelf products if you don't want to futz with building one yourself. This specific model isn't cheap, though:
