This tab is not a true "Galaxy" because it has a cheap and poor performing Mediatek chip. Here is what Tom's Hardware had to say about the A7 Lite:

In short, using the Tab A7 Lite for anything more than browsing the web and watching media is often a lackluster experience, and that's backed up by our lab testing. The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite earned a score of 907 in the Geekbench 5 multicore performance benchmark, which we use to help measure the tablet's overall performance. It's a poor score that puts it quite behind tablets like the 2021 Amazon Fire HD 10 (969), Microsoft's Surface Go 2 (1,563) and the iPad 2020 (2,685).

This tablet is no better than a Fire. Actually it's even worse Frown

Paid 129 few weeks ago at Target and threw a case on it for my kid. Perfect present. Unlike a fire Tab I can easily run GAPPS and don't have to worry about sideloading. This is NOT a tablet for someone who looks up benchmarks. This is a tablet for someone who just likes to stream or play basic games. I'd buy it again...

Micro SD? Yep.
Headphone jack? Yep
Sturdy heft? Yep.

This will last 2-3 more years which is perfect as there's more car trips planned. Afterwards I'll buy the latest model of this again until my kid actually requires more than streaming vids

Amazon tablets are a great deal, but the software is annoying unless you are all in with the Amazon ecosystem. You can sideload and stuff, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

Don't know how good this tablet is, but for what it's worth the 32gb is more expensive at $130. The silver 64gb is $150.

Does it include the cover?

Does it have audio jack and microsd card slot?

Should be good enough for Kindle and media consumption on a plane?

Looks like a good deal. Ordered an open box excellent for $92.99 + tax. The 64GB version nets you 4GB of RAM vs. 3GB in the 32GB version so that's a huge plus.

That's what the benchmarks show.

I would honestly pass on this. I got mine with my GW4 preorder bonus. It has a hard time just trying to read emails in Gmail. I thought I could use it for DIM in Destiny 2, but it can't even load the app before I could finish a strike.

With those specs you would expect it to have some dead branding like Polaroid, RCA, or Hewlett-Packard.

My wife has this tablet, and for what a sub $150 tablet is supposed to do, it does well. Brucknerfan is totally right in that the SoC is not a world-beater, but it does web browsing, email, ebooks, music, and has no issues running Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ when we travel. The 4GB of memory really help. The biggest issue is probably the 800p display, but again, at 8-inches, it looks good for the price.

In the review at Tom's, he mentions how much better the >$500 Microsoft Surface Go and iPad are than this tablet. Uhhh... I would hope so!

I saw that too. It mentions 'pay a few hundred bucks more' to get something that outperforms this on all fronts.. that's a huge difference! Don't get me wrong, I have an iPad Pro M1 but I wouldn't snub a $100ish tablet just because a $500 one is better. That's kind of common sense.

I think if you temper your expectations, this is a good entry level tablet.

Benchmark scores are overrated.

Might be worth spending an extra $70 for a Tab S6 Lite ($223) @ samsung. 10% return trick and 10% Cashback will end up being 180ish

Gmail is not processor or ram intensive app. I got android phones/tablets that are 7 years old that can load Gmail without hiccups, so I'm pretty sure an android device released in 2021 can run gmail.
