iOS user here needing advice. I need to get a device that my father in law can use for the Nest App. He's getting a nest doorbell. Will this do it for him or is there something better/cheaper out there?

Look at the onn pro 8 for $29 @ walmart. Its not anything flashy, but would work fine for that. It depends on local availability but there were a bunch around me.

will this be sufficient for my 65 years old mom? watches videos, and is on some social media, and WhatsApp. also trying to get her to e-read instead of carrying heavy books around. tnx in advance for any advise.

I would get a nest hub for $50 to go with the doorbell. That's what I have, and they work well. The hub will notify you if someone rings the doorbell.

A7 has bigger screen, better battery life, better front camera, etc. I've never owned either but don't hear good stuff about the Lites... always laggy.
