So you buy a ticket and travel by 11/18/21. Then buy ANOTHER ticket for 1/6-2/28/2022 and on THAT flight your companion flies free?

This is similar to last year deal, but not as good. Last year was book "a" flight by x date (2020) and travel by y date (2020). Have companion pass January to end of Feb 2021.

Basically, book a round trip ticket by 9/9/21 with travel dates before 11/18/2021 .
You will then have a companion pass to used with travel booked between 1/6/22 to 2/28/22

Notes: Price doesn't not matter. I booked a $60 one-way ticket between NYC and DC. Used the companion pass for my trip to Taos, NM in January. DC to ABQ roundtrip was $260, so i essentially saved $200 on airfare.

NICE! I have a flight next week Wednesday that I just cancelled and re-bought for roughly $60 more... The companion pass, combine with $30 back with Chase made the extra $30 easily worth it Smilie

I hope the statement above is correct. However, I read the fine print as follows:

"The Promotion Companion Pass is valid from Jan 6th to Feb 28th and allows you to designate one person to fly with you, free of airline charges, on flights purchased by you from January 6th to Feb 28th,"

I read this as meaning that THE QUALIFIED Member needs to by SW tickets between Jan 6th and Feb 28th. Then, only after purchasing those tickets, then a free companion may be added.

Feedback please? This is an important interpretation.

IF I BOOK A RESERVATION PRIOR TO JANUARY 6, 2022 FOR TRAVEL BETWEEN JANUARY 6 AND FEBRUARY 28, 2022, WHEN CAN I BOOK MY COMPANION'S RESERVATION?
Once your Promotional Companion Pass has been awarded to your account (January 6, 2022), you can book your Companion's reservation (subject to flight capacity and availability at the time of booking the Promotional Companion Pass).

SW only flies to about 10 destinations non-stop from DTW...they aren't a big airport to get the good discounts.

People have mentioned that travel credits can be used to purchase the required flights, but does anyone know if the use of travel vouchers would be considered a "revenue flight"? Since SWA gave us the vouchers, it seems unlikely that vouchers would qualify.
