Good price if the GPU isn't very important to you. 3050 Ti is like 40% faster for reference. 3060 is over 100% faster.
The first gen screen (this one) has some noticeable blur on motion, despite being a high refresh panel. Second gen is better, but second gen with 1440p panel is smooth.

Overall, this is a killer laptop if you don't mind the blur or smaller trackpad vs other premiums.

MSI has only 8GB RAM and 6c/12t processor. With 15.6" screen, it'll be more heavier to haul around. The screen does have a better fresh rate though.

The ASUS has 16gb RAM and 8c/16t processor, with a faster base clock.

I thought you meant you found a similar spec'ed 14" with a 3060 for the same price.

Man .. why can't they just upgrade to a more decent display for an extra $50? I'll gladly pay it. For a gaming laptop, I'm not sure if 60hz is going to cut it.
For gaming the low end GPU here is a perfect match for 60hz.

I want to get this and sell my p14 intel I-565,

Anyone think it's a good idea? I dislike the keyboard a lot and the processor is kinda slow.

I have this model. Fantastic for gaming on the go. It pushes the 14" FHD to the limit and offers great performance with steady fps. If you're looking to connect It to a sizeable monitor, that is where the flaws come out. Not great for external horsepower. But, a great tradeoff, is the battery. In-game, I can get 3-4 hours. Try that on my Alienware or Eluktronics...1 1/2 max. And if you just simply use it as a daily laptop, it rivals most midrange systems in term of battery usage. Once again, great system if you like gaming on the go with the added function of being just an overall great laptop. From experience, not anecdote.

I should mention though, that this card does not support DLSS or (obviously) RTX. But the thought still stands it's great for the price

It's not bad. But, I'd rather look on Craigslist or marketplace for an XPS 9500 for last gen or XPS 9570 for two gens ago. You should be able to find one in this range, and it's a much better computer for your usage while being much more practical.
XPS is junk. Overheating intel processor, terrible keyboard feel, no USB A, terrible quality control, worse graphics than this. No thanks

Deal wrongly states 144hz screen when i believe it is in-fact the 60hz panel.

Isn't the Acer Swift X a more desirable machine with the gtx 350 ti? I know it is $150.00 more but u do get a gpu that can actually play games.... its like 12% slower then a 1660 ti.

i agree this is good for the price but the 1650 is WEAK and the screen is 60hz.... but that is fine for a gpu like this..

I think I would want at least a 3050 ti ... like the Acer swift. 3050 ti is about 40% faster. But also has a 60hz screen

FWIW, one issue that I read is that Asus's application of the liquid metal is absolutely horrendous. They used way too much, almost to the point of spilling over the barrier. Many people have taken it apart and reapplied the Thermal Grizzly compound, reducing CPU temps significantly.

If you plan to connect to a 144hz or higher monitor, then yes, a 3500 is a better bet. But, if you're looking to just push 60hz, the 1650 will absolutely do that, minus DLSS and RTX. Once again, this is my "on-the-go" gametop, so I can personally confirm gaming at 60hz runs and looks great. To note, I also have a laptop with an RTX 2080 maxq and an alienware with a 3070, so I can compare and contrast good, better, best. If you accept what it is, it's a great machine.
