Good price if the GPU isn't very important to you. 3050 Ti is like 40% faster for reference. 3060 is over 100% faster.
The first gen screen (this one) has some noticeable blur on motion, despite being a high refresh panel. Second gen is better, but second gen with 1440p panel is smooth.

Overall, this is a killer laptop if you don't mind the blur or smaller trackpad vs other premiums.

Why do I still get 950 after enroll student discount? Anyone else have the same issue?

So would you say it's a bit over priced as there have been few deals in the near past with 3060 for similar price and comparable specs. Thanks for your inputs.
I think you generally pay more for 14" vs 15.6", so no, I don't think it's overpriced. Certainly nothing of the quality of a ROG Zephyrus.

It's a f****** insult to call this a gaming laptop
How about a pretty good productivity laptop for $850 after student discount?

Opinions on price vs performance?
I think that the gaming laptop market has a lot of good options in the $1,000-1,500 range. I don't think that trying to save $150 really makes much sense when you can look on here for $1,000 and get something with much better gaming performance.

It's not bad. But, I'd rather look on Craigslist or marketplace for an XPS 9500 for last gen or XPS 9570 for two gens ago. You should be able to find one in this range, and it's a much better computer for your usage while being much more practical.

Back in the day, it was a gaming laptop, but the new jump in generation gaming in both consoles and pc parts were big this time. Still run games at low to medium depending on what games,

good looking plastic mess with cheap graphics card. too bad.
This laptop is literally made almost entirely of Magnesium Alloy, a premium that makes it 10x stronger than Aluminum, while being 30% lighter than aluminum. It's also among the few sub $1000 laptops that has a dedicated GPU in addition to Ryzen's beastly Zen 3 architecture to use Vega 8 GPU when you need to sip power. You know nothing.

Top of the line? No. Cheaply Made? Hell no. ASUS is rocking it lately.

better for heating room in cold winter days lol?
I had top level i9 intel XPS - fans were crazy loud all the time and cpu temp about 100C.
Intel has nothing to put against 5800HS at present
