Brickseek shows several Walmarts with the 800 listed as 50% off. I drove 7 hours round trip to pick one up from Keyser WV. With the 3 year warranty and tax it came out to $405.45.

Not available within 50 miles of Chicagoland zip codes. Any available at a discounted price in WI or IN?
Probably a long shot now, but I picked up the Gravity 800 at Walmart in Merrillville Indiana on Saturday, and they had 2 Gravity 1050's for $500 on the shelf in the garden center. Not quite 50% off, but $300 off isn't bad.
Brickseek did not show this as in-stock when I went, so I don't think it's reliable for that store.

Thanks. That is far for me to drive back and forth especially that it is not 100% sure they still have any left. Calling is a no no. Plus getting a Wally cs to even look up inventory is hard. Heck getting a Wally cs on the phone is a hard as it is.
I've seen these in the Socal area anywhere from 50%-75% off. Some stores have them at regular price but you have to go to the store and scan for prices yourself on the Walmart app.
Hi Jesse, may I ask what county or cities in SoCal?
Char griller has a version that is supposed to be better build quality. Gravity 980. I watched a side by side comparison, but have not been hands on with either.
I have the 980 and have used it heavily this summer. The charcoal hopper lid is warped, the welds on the heat Distributor have broken near the hopper, one of the door sensor has malfunctioned so I bypassed it, occasionally I get an error ERF on the screen which stops the grill, paint is peeling in every part of the grill. So yeah the 980 quality isn't great
I called and asked if I could purchase it over the phone and they said they'd just put my name on it and leave it at customer service. I paid when I got there.
Same for me, called early this morning, got an associate and he marked it sold, 50% off. Picked it up at lunch (bit of a drive but manageable). Got there, paid for it, loaded it in my car and gone. i have the 560 and love it, bought it at Walmart last year, but really wanted to upgrade. I've had a few issues with codes, but temp accuracy is good and overall it's a great piece of equipment. I didn't even get static from my wife about buying a new grill after buying a new one last year!

Hey friend, I'm glad it worked for someone else too!
Here is the difference - visit someone you know with a pellet smoker and stand in the smoke, then stand in campfire smoke. Which one leaves more "smoke flavor"? The actual wood burning x100. I had a pellet grill but got rid of it for one of these and then use lump charcoal with chunks of smoking wood mixed in. Can't touch the flavor with pellets
This comparison is laughable.
You're comparing smoke output from a small smoke pot with less than a handful of pellets to that of a campfire with full logs. Of course there is more smoke output from the campfire.
If you didn't get enough smoke from your pellet grill then it was either user error or you must have had a garbage pellet grill.
Plenty of smoke from a quality pellet grill with the smoke ring to prove it.

Congrats. Better to ask for forgiveness than for permission. Worst thing that could happen you get a earful and you sleep on the couch dreaming of how that smoked pull pork will taste. Heh.
No inventory in my area for any of the sizes, bought the 560 direct from MB with the bundle items of cover and rotisserie. Will have my first cook on it this weekend.
Did a lot of reviewing and while there are some quality issues with the MB, it seems charcoal vs pellet there is no comparison. Don't get the same flavor with pellet nor do you get the high temps you can with charcoal. Between the MB gravity and the Char grilled gravity, the MB seems like the better buy, especially if you can find it discounted.
Brickseek didn't have any near me but I randomly checked my local Walmart and they had one. Not at the price the OP listed though but $508. Still bought it but it was the last one. There was a 1050 display model for $300 though but it was missing grates.
