Quicken has become the most useless software ever. First they move from 1-time purchase to subscrption only. Then when they have a discount it is for new users only, cant use on upgrading. Then, if they have an upgrade offer, it is for CD only. Who has a cd drive these days. The days of this company or numbered, horrible all around. Time to dump quicken use something else.

So you may disagree with their tactics it sounds like they got you were they want you to be. Question is and do most people pay up or do they give up?

Hint if it is the latter and becomes a money losing proposition, you would immediately see them change their strategy. For this reason I'm not upgrading and they're not seeing a penny more from me.

If you are an existing user, you will need to buy the disc version. Office Depot/Max also has it for the same price.

Installation

Open quicken
Click help menu
Click enter activation code
Follow steps
Select skip on automatic renewal.

I just did it this way and it worked.

If you are an existing user and simply need to renew, you need to buy the CD version. When you buy the CD, all you really need is the activation code. Open quick, click help menu, click enter activation code (assuming yours is already expired) and follow all the steps. You can and should skip the automatic renewal step.
