Because they resell your old phone to new markets (South East Asia, Africa and etc) so they don't make it twice. Therefore they don't do trade-ins for other brand phones.

I think you're right. It does say "new line & account." This Walmart deal isn't really a deal. Since you're really only getting $50 off and your activation fees (if you can't get them waived later) makes the savings pretty much non-existent

The carrier should unlock it right away if the phone is paid off. I'm planning to buy with AT&T activation on my friends account and unlock it to use on prepaid.

The Walmart listing for the 13 pro is FROM $949 with savings up to $100 but the Apple msrp is $999 for the 128gb 13 pro so the savings is ONLY $50 😯
