Nice find! Too bad the coupon doesnt seem to work with anything else from sweetwater. Would love me a Martin Jr or Taylor GS mini
I own the older 000-X1, and it's been a great guitar for over a decade. It has great intonation, pretty full tone, and a low action, which I really need due to carpal tunnel syndrome. I paid between $500-$600 for mine with the hardcase about 15 years ago. At this price, I'd consider this a great buy for novice-to-intermediate players who want to step into a pro-quality guitar without paying a pro-quality price.
My session guitar is a Taylor 614ce, but I still occasionally use my 000-X1 on recordings to get more tonal variety since it's a very capable studio instrument. Yet I also feel comfortable taking it out for camping/beach trips since it's not an insanely expensive instrument either. For many players, I think this deal will hit a great price-to-quality ratio.

I own a Martin DX1-AE and have owned a Martin DM. I'm not impressed with the X. The sound is comparable to my old Takamine GS beginner guitar and the action is slightly higher than I like. I haven't played this particular model so it's entirely possibly they've improved the X guitars. I'd be interested to hear from other folks experience w this model.
I totally disagree. After getting my dx1-ae set up at a shop it is nice to play and sounds amazing. Sounds like you need to take it for a tune up and get the action lowered? I do not really use it on a amp so maybe that's what you mean?
Does the GS mini feel small or normal? The Gs mini koa is the one I've been eyeing!
It's smaller than a normal guitar but not a ton.
The frets, especially further down on the neck are a little snug, so if you have fat fingers, they'll feel cramped but this also means stretchy chords are easier.
I like the smaller size personally but also have a full sized guitar that I play less often.
Dude! This is a stupid good deal for a beginner/intermediate guitar. It's a Martin, and they don't make junk. I played a DX1 for 10 years before finally moving up to a D35 and D28. The HPL is nothing to worry about. I had mine hanging on a wall with huge humidity swings and it always played great and never had it tuned up. Perfect campfire guitar.
Damnit, why did I decide to check SD on my phone in bed right before going to sleep at 1am? Now I'm $380 poorer, (but a new guitar richer!) lol. Wife is gonna kill me when this thing arrives next week. After I bought the Fender American Performer strat from the Adorama deal on here a few months ago she made me swear that was gonna be my last guitar purchase "for a long time". Oops...
I'm a leftie and want to learn, should I find a "leftie" version?
Sweetwater sells the left handed version with electronics. That one is $599, but call them up and tell the price you can get for the righty without electronics on eBay. Ask them what the best price is they can give you for the lefty version with electronics. You will pay more than this deal, unfortunately, but you will have the electronics built-in.
Look up Zager guitars online. You'll be very impressed and will want one of those instead.
Zager is marketing hype. Do your homework and be very careful if you consider buying one. They are not what they want you to believe they are. Very deceptive marketing. Have a guitar made in Indonesia, send it to the US and have Zager tweak it... Voila- a Zager guitar is born. Any luthier can make a Zager like set up.

Might as well get an Esteban guitar.
