If you are a new customer and want to get the GC instead of bill credits
1) Port in as a new customer with your existing phone (BYOD)
2) After line ported in, ask for upgrade; you pay the full price ($729 for the iPhone 13 mini and so on).
3) Anywhere between 4 - 12 weeks after, you'll get a $300 gift card.
4) After 60 days service and paying at least one billing cycle - you can request unlock of the iphone.
5) After unlocking + getting the GC : you can cancel service or continue as you wish.

New customers who don't want bill credits:
1. Port your number in to XM and BYOD
2. Wait until service is activated
3. Upgrade to the new iPhone at full price
4. Pay it off in full
5. Wait 4-6 weeks for my $300 GC
6. After 60 days service and paying at least one billing cycle, request XM to unlock the new iPhone
7. Cancel XM (or continue) service

I also paid it off in full because I didn't want to be locked in to Xfinity for two years, no problem. Hopefully they didn't change the terms.
Also if I remember correctly, Xfinity Mobile had a nice website where you could check your rebate status that ended up being pretty accurate.
What the heck does that mean, I can only upgrade a phone that's not an iphone to an iphone 13 ? (existing customer)
I have one line with iPhone XS and another with Note 10. Wondering if I can do this for both lines and get $300 each.
