If you are a new customer and want to get the GC instead of bill credits
1) Port in as a new customer with your existing phone (BYOD)
2) After line ported in, ask for upgrade; you pay the full price ($729 for the iPhone 13 mini and so on).
3) Anywhere between 4 - 12 weeks after, you'll get a $300 gift card.
4) After 60 days service and paying at least one billing cycle - you can request unlock of the iphone.
5) After unlocking + getting the GC : you can cancel service or continue as you wish.

BTW, when you get a new number, you can use that in the future to qualify for any deal from another carrier that requires a port in. If you get a new number with this deal right now, and keep the number for 60 days to qualify for phone unlock, your number becomes good to port out right around Black Friday. Samsung and Google had really good deals during last year's holidays.

It's basically rewards for being Xfinity customer, depending on how long you had their service (primarily Internet service i think)
