I have this and it works great. Only times the finger print gives issues are when my finger is wet really. There was a couple times where it said the door lock was jammed, but I figured out that was an issue with my door itself. My only gripe with this is that it does not connect to my phone as fast as I'd like. Ideal scenario would be me pulling into my drive way and being able to open the app and unlock the front door. I have found it doesn't typically connect fast enough and it's easier to just use my finger print at the door. Bringing in groceries is a typical situation I'd want to use that feature for

I recently got this as it was recommended by Wirecutter. Got it for the same price and been installed for a couple weeks. It is really great, easy to use, smaller and more discreet than others. I primarily use the fingerprint function but others use the keypad and it has been very reliable. It has a really cool hidden traditional manual key lock behind the front panel. It includes the actual bolt which is a Schlage or comparable ASNI Grade 1 deadbolt (I don't know if all of the smart locks come with the actual bolt). I installed this myself on a door that did not have an existing deadbolt and it was simple. Only negative is the bridge/connection on mine is not super fast. It takes a few seconds once I open the app to connect to the lock but it is not an issue for me in my use case and also could be an issue others don't have. I would 100% buy this again.

I posted my comment before seeing your post. I guess I am not the only one whose app take a few seconds to actually connect.

The app itself is horrible. I've had this for at least a year from their kickstarter. App has not gotten any better. Lots of issues with it just even connecting to view status of my lock, let alone using it to unlock (which I hardly ever do).

I have their lever lock. For me, fingerprint sensor works well and quick. Everyone else in the family seems to have some issues with their prints or not placing their fingers right.

Notifications with the wifi module/gw are also very iffy (if it comes in, it comes in). And they have some archaic setup where you need to create a rule for every person to alert on (wtf).

The lock mechanism had issues after a few months... They promptly replaced it and it's been fine since.

I've commented about this lock almost every time it pops up on SD. I'm a big fan as well. The price listed here has been in effect using the Wirecutter promo code for a long time and is a great deal. I hope it lasts.

I now have 2 of these for my home, the older v1 works just as well as v2. The only visible difference between the two are the external buttons. v1 has rounded harder rubber buttons, v2 has flat softer rubber buttons. Don't know if either is more resilient to the elements.

When I've had random issues with the lock customer service has been quite good. They're very willing to send out replacement parts if they can determine a piece has failed. Most recently my new v2 was missing threading in a screw hole on the exterior housing. Obviously you can't assemble the lock if the main screw won't attach. They replaced it no problem.

As everyone has mentioned here, the app is probably their biggest drawback. It is slow and laggy to connect, but provided your wifi bridge is properly located, it eventually connects. The 'smart notifications' could be much, much smarter. The only notification I really want is if the lock stays unlocked for some amount of time. Not even an option.

I don't use auto-open or proximity unlock, so I can't speak to that function. That option seems to be a big issue for lots of smart lock manufacturers. The firmware for the lock seems to get regular updates, though there is no changelog so it's hard to say what gets updated.

I have the same issue with unlocking via the app. It's slow and normally doesn't connect. I pretty much only use it when I'm sitting on the couch and expecting a friend over and would like to be able to unlock it when they ring the doorbell, but it fails more often than not and I have to get up to unlock it manually. This never happened with my August Pro 3rd gen.

Still, it's a great lock otherwise and the fingerprint sensor is so handy, especially for my daughter.

Very easy to install. But sometimes makes a weird clicking noise.

I bought this before and its the best lock I have owned. Have used several different wireless/phone deadlocks in the past years and I am sold on this one. Really like how easy it is to set up and use. The install is like any deadbolt replacement but the app UI is really on point.

Regarding the above comments about iffy operation, crappy app, and notification inadequacies: I have Kevo Kwickset 2nd gen smart locks, I bought two of these locks for my girlfriend and have used them minimally. Based on what I have seen, I would kill to have the reliability of the ultraloq. if my kevo app unlocks the door remotely on first try, I literally die of surprise. I've been debating upgrading to the ultraloq for some time, but can't really justify it when I already have the kevos. But I am *this* close every time I see it at this price (3 locks is only $420 ish, right??). ultraloq does integrate with Google home too...

Can some one help me with this question? If this lock is bought with the bridge, does that mean it can be unlocked and locked remotely?

Also, how reliable this website is and their return policy?

"Ultraloq Bridge plugged into a power outlet within 10 feet on an opposite or adjacent wall from your Ultraloq Smart Lock interior assembly. The lock and the Bridge are in the line of sight (recommended);
A distance within 50 feet between the Bridge and the WiFi router" and Blue tooth is only 3m/10ft (pg 11 U-Bolt Pro install guide) or go here https://support.u-tec.com/hc/en-u...U-Bolt-Pro and here https://support.u-tec.com/hc/en-u...loq-Bridge you can see the limitations on how this effects performance of the features. It seems the radio signals are not strong so distance from the lock for those functions are short. Hope this helps. I have the UL3-BT for more than 2 years and love it. Installing the U-Bolt Pro today on garage door, don't need bridge function. I'm liking KEYLESS life.. not buying into "REMOTE" via Google, Alexa and such. Staying with "LOCAL" keyless.
