      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

Where's your source? I've traded in the phone which was still had an EIP.
Source as in you can see if a phone is financed via IMEI?
Best Buy will deny a trade in due to being financed?

For the first, you can either pay for an IMEI check service or use the below free methods. For the second, all I know is if they check the IMEI number they can see the phone is financed or not. Whether they deny you or not is up to the employee.

Quote :
Check If iPhone Is Paid Off with Verizon
1. Visit http://verizonwireless.com/device-rec...
2. Click Continue as guest on the pop-up.
3. Select your phone's manufacturer, model, memory size, and color.
4. Enter your phone's IMEI. If the phone is still financed, you will receive an error message stating that the device is not eligible for a trade-in due to a current balance.

Check If iPhone Is Paid Off with AT&T
1. Visit https://att.com/deviceunlock
2. Click Unlock your device and answer No to the Are you an AT&T wireless customer question on the form.
3. Input your phone's IMEI into the form. If the phone is not paid off, you will receive the message: "This device isn't eligible to be unlocked now because all of the installment payments have not been paid."

Check If iPhone Is Paid Off with T-Mobile
1. Visit https://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx
2. Enter your phone's IMEI into the IMEI Status Check form. You will receive an error message if your phone still carries a balance.

Check If iPhone Is Paid Off with Sprint
1. Visit https://ting.com/byod
2. Enter your phone's IMEI and submit the form. You will receive an error message if the device has not been paid off.

$100 off the device price ($899 instead of $999)
Another $100 embedded in the trade in value. ($155 for iPhone 7 vs $50 if you do it on apple.com)

Anybody have luck trading in an OG iPhone SE? I'm not seeing it on the drop down for the trade in (but the 6 and 6s are listed, which are technically older than the SE)

Problem with Costco deal is getting the color size and stock of what we want is difficult and needs lot of follow ups.. personally I will give away 25$ for this work unless you already find out one at Costco.. bestbuy deal is only good for new model tradein

He doesn't have a source. It's false. Paying off EIP is only necessary for trading in to T-mobile. You can trade an EIP phone to Best Buy or Apple without issue. You would just have to keep paying off the EIP as agreed to.

Yes, in CA they charge taxes based on the price minus the $200 discount (for the Max). In some other states, they charge based on the amount after taking off the trade-in value.

I figured as such, thanks. Yay more CA taxes.

When you trade in the phone at Apple with EIP, I know it's not a problem. However, to will the additional $500 bill credit stack on top of the EIP bill credits. The $500 bill credit is not a EIP credit and so it should stack because we are buying the device at full price. Please let me know your thoughts.

Would Apple price match with BB price? I pre-orderd a 13 Pro Max this morning for full amount. BB is already a $100 less than Apple's price. Plus BB is giving 290$ for trade-in of iPhone x whereas Apple is giving $200.
I called Apple and the agent I got said they would not match BB's price since it's a pre-order product. I read an earlier post where a SD'er got an agent that was willing to PM but only if it was purchased in full. Sounds like either they changed their policies or it's very YMMV.

Has anyone got Apple to match BB's discounted price ($100 less for the 13) or counter offer like 10% off?

Anyone want to start a short term family plan for this deal (40 days until unlocked)? I can join to lower the monthly bill.

That I do not know. The safer way would be to go through Best Buy. Won't have to deal with credits at all.
