  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

Worry not there will be better deals coming along if not the same.
For those looking to purchase an iPhone and then leave or go back to another carrier asap, this one is tough to beat. In my situation I'm trading in an iPhone Pro Max 12.

1) $875 straight up trade. Highest I've seen for no commitment but could be wrong.
2) Extra $100 from Best Buy. woot woot!
3) Only 2 month commitment to Tmobile. NO bill credits.
4) Can unlock phone after 40 days
5) Taxes only on the amount after rebate so on $124 and not on a $1100 phone. Nice savings there.

This deal checks a lot of boxes if you don't want to stick with Tmobile. In my case I'm going back to USMobile and their Verizon towers for $16/month. I hope you're right about better deals to come, but looking at past deals and even last year's Black Friday deals, I didn't see one that checked all these boxes. I could have missed it/them though.

Again this is for those wanting to leave asap after purchase. In this case 2 months.

Traded in pixel 4 over Mother's Day for iPhone 12 bill credit promo.
Traded that 12 in today for the 13.
Cost me $85, and now I'm running a paid off device. EIP credits still in place.

Yeh I don't think there will be a better deal even on BF that will beat this and that's the reason I also signed up with t-mobile and plan to port out after a week so and hopefully they will prorate.

With the turbo sim method it's pretty easy to unlock these days. It may get locked after a major ios update but just need to do the same unlock with the new ICC code so I'm not worried it being locked.

placed an order last night for the 13 pro since the 13 pro max is sold out all around Northern NJ
Have the red se for the high value.
Went today after receiving the email that it was ready.
Rep said to come back next week, that they were having issues.
Not holding my breath here but hope they will go through with the deal.
there are some in stock in NY but can't pass the t-mobile credit verification. I also have SE that's showing a higher value but can't finalize the order Mad

I had a very good pick up experience at Best Buy yesterday. I had ordered 3 upgrades (two 13 Pro Sierra Blue and a Red 13) online on the 19th. I had trade ins for all three lines (all iPhone 12 family). I got an email and text from Best Buy just before midnight on the 23rd saying that my order was ready to be picked up. I went there around 4PM. Had to wait for 15 minutes before they could find additional help to work with me. I had to show them my ID, and enter the last 4 digits of my SSN for verification (no finger printing like some others said in this forum). The gentleman then took about 15 minutes to enter the info for all three lines on his computer, and once done had me reset and erase all three trade ins. At this point I was expecting to be given the new phones and the sim cards and let us leave, but he went ahead and called T-mobile to activate all lines. From that point it took him about two hours to get all lines activated since they ran into issues with T-mobile wanting to verify my account. T-mobile wanted to send a one time code to my phone for verification, but that phone was already reset, and the new phone we are trying to activate is where the code will try to come! I also had no access to my T-mobile account since my trade in phone was reset. And using email for verifications did not work too since two factor authentication was turned on on my gmail and my second device was home (hindsight, I should have taken my iPad with me). After trying several options with T-mobile they decided to go to the back of the store to find my trade in, set it up again, verify the old sim was still active (T-mobile insisted it will be, and it was), and receive the code on the old phone. Once they had the code they were able to activate all three lines. Throughout the entire process, the Best Buy team was extremely helpful. At one point I was asking them to just let me leave so I can resolve this with T-Force (the person helping me was nearing his end of shift, and I felt bad keeping him late to resolve my first world problems), but they insisted that they would rather resolve everything there so I can walk out there with a peace of mind that everything works. Once I was home, I was able to get on T-Mobile's website and confirm that all devices were showing up on my account, and that the plan was untouched as many on this forum mentioned (thank you community for that).
When you get to the check device unlock status on the tmobile, did your device show up? Mine is showing this device is not in our system.

Glad to hear it's been a great experience! I will probably pull the trigger soon also. I didn't realize the Xs was selling for so low on the market - I assumed because Apple products have high resale value, it would still be $400-500, but all the typical sites are showing low - mid $200s, so BB's buyback offer is very reasonable.
I thought so too, but kept getting offers around $350, $400 was about a month ago when I was away and couldn't meet. At this point $60 or so is definitely not worth it, I was happy to see it go. If you have a 64 gb with a low battery health I think it's a great deal!

I did not check for unlock status as I was expecting it to be locked to the network for at least 40 days, and I was not in a hurry to unlock. The carrier settings in iOS confirms that it is locked to the T-Mobile network. What I checked online at T-Mobile was to make sure that the upgraded lines are linked to the new devices, which they were.

They email you an ACLT confirmation email from BB after you pick up. It showed up within a few hours on my apple.com account and on the Apple Service App - but NOT on the actual device. Will chat/call Monday if it doesn't show, but chat rep said if you see it active on the account and bought it it's covered.

how do you know that? I have to wait for couple of weeks before I can place the order. The T-Mobile trade in is far better than Bestbuy for me. But I am worried the offer won't last.
