Lol. A store showroom is the worst place to judge a tv.
You can't get a better image than oled.
Oleds always win in head to head comparisons by "pros".
I have two oleds. Zero burn in. Look at Rtings burn in tests. You have to abuse these tv's to get burn in.

I'm looking, but I don't see anything about covering burn in. Does the warranty include that?
According to the attached... burn-in is covered...

Sorry for asking if this has already been discussed. What's the difference between C1 and A1?

From RTINGS:
"The LG A1 (entry-level) and the LG C1 (upper mid-level) deliver very similar picture quality but differ in the extra features available. The C1 is a better gaming TV, with 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, support for variable refresh rate technology (VRR), and a 120Hz native refresh rate. The A1 is limited to a native 60Hz refresh rate, only 3 HDMI ports (none are 2.1), and has no VRR support. For movie lovers, the C1 is also a slightly better choice as, it gets brighter, can remove judder from any source, and it has an optional Black Frame Insertion feature to help reduce persistence blur."

Thank you. I jave no need for gaming, still will wait for a C1 deal, ~$2500 is my target price. I think refresh rate and judder handling may be worth the price. I have a C8 that does have slight judder issue.

Now with the Sony A80j on sale this decision is becoming very difficult. I do have an Xbox Series X that I may use for a few hours a week and the VRR on the LG is a nice feature. But that is allegedly coming to the Sony TV as well...at some point. But then there is the issue with audio delay with Atmos on the LG which would be frustrating. Hmmm...

Maybe I just wait until either one is a few hundred dollars cheper

So, first off, the LG 83 inch (C1PUA) is also on sale at buydig, and comes with a $500 visa card: https://www.buydig.com/shop/produ...2021-Model

Second, I'm looking at getting the 83 inch above, or the 77 inch posted here, or the 85 inch Samsung QN90A. Any thoughts? is the 83 LG worth the $2k more? Or is it worth losing the size and getting the 77 inch LG over the samsung? I don't need the multiple HDMI ports (everything goes through an av receiver). Not much of a gamer; this is solely for tv shows and movies. Medium-lit room.

This or a80j?. Costco will have 2999 for 77 a80j from end of this month.
Sony is known for its picture processing (it works very closely with studios). LG has enabled all gaming features on their models, which Sony has yet to do. If your preference is watching movies, Sony is probably better. If your preference is gaming, LG is probably better. If your preference is shopping at Costco, and the extra warranty and peace of mind for returns, you know where to go 😊
