I knew you would give in... knew it!

speaking of douchy names.. what about that poopyface guy?

Buy you guys a beer? we should have a support group.
as i said many times as a youth, I'll show you mine if you show me yours
https://i.imgur.com/d3FHTvfl.jpg

so we are putting together little group where we can get together and talk about surrendering to a higher power. and then we spend the rest of the time bragging about all the multitools we have. see above.

to be sitting in a drawer when you need it?

so many questions, so so many.

check your rear view, i think you might be in reverse. your work got taken to the cleaners

I got my first Leatherman PST in 1990 to go to war with, on the other hand:

see, we told that swiss guy, right?

glad you asked.. So the charge sit's atop the second tier of leatherman, The outside opening tool tier, This group of tools have 2 or 4 outside accessible tools, common tools are a pliers, wirecutter, plain edge knife, serrated, saw, file, can opener/bottle opener/wire stripper, phillips and flat screwdrivers, eyeglass screwdriver and bit driver in the charge, surge, wave. The wave is the best selling multitool in the history of multitools.

Charge (TI, TTI, AL, ALX, Plus, Plus TTI) The charge has the most tools of this group, it also has a higher quality knife blade steel, either 154CM or S30V for the plain edge knife. I EDC either a charge TI (with TTI blades and plier upgrade from warranty) or a charge AL
Surge with it's tshank socket for virtually unlimited sawing capability (anything from wood to steel) as well as a file that can be used to sharpen the main knife blade when removed. It is the largest of these tools and tool large for some.
wave/wave+ there have been 3 revs of this tool, The first had 4 outside locking blades but the other tools were detent retained not locking. The next version had all tools locking, the wave+ has the replaceable wire cutters.
Bond/Curl - new these seem like mr potato head where they are half one tool and half another part OG wave part rebar, and some of the tools are non locking, a step backwards in my mind.
sidekick, wingman only 2 outside locking tools for these two, both include plain and serrated either in 2 blades or 1 (combo blade) a pliers, used to be bargain priced, they have migrated upwards, some argue they are part of the "free" line since the tools on the free seem to come from these tools, but they are not magnetic and they predate the "free"

The ST300 is also the top of it's tier, the all inside tools. The tool itself is large, like the surge. It carries the most tools at, i think 19. but it's saw is a wood saw only and it is fixed unlike the surge. The file does not include the diamond side. but it is very robust. The surge and ST300 are like the city mouse country mouse versions. One is a little slicker, the other maybe, maybe studier. Supposedly the ST300 is supposed to be easier to work with gloves on.

The other tools in this line include the

rebar, 3/4 version of the ST300 (girl hands version )
blast
kick
PST II
PST
Crunch (locking pliers)

now you are dooming your car to break down repeatedly I've had a wave or a surge in each of our car's gloveboxes since 06

I just sent them a totally horsed up surge and crunch and got back 2 nice shiny tools in perfect working order
The surge they replaced a couple tools and both blades but kept the rest, the crunch, they sent back one that was brand brand new (assembled of used parts likely, but still had that new car smell.)

So, there was an original ST, then the ST200, and now the ST300, so I think it is more like iphone 13 or note 21 than how many tools.

that sheath is $50 on it's own, so I highly doubt it.

i googled but did not see any complaints according to whois history they've been around since 07 https://www.wmtips.com/tools/info...rstore.com

thanks for catching this! however, the NSN they have matches the stainless version on amazon rather than the Black oxide version.

I have a mut eod and struggle to find uses for it. I've used the carbon scraper before but attaching and using cleaning rods is not convenient, and the takedown pin pointer is a little sharp for my liking, I'd worry about scratching something with it, If I hadn't bought it used for $50 I don't think i ever would have purchased it.

they do not. only the sidekick and wingman have those pliers. However, I would say once your tool loosens up, you'll find they don't need springs.

This wasn't a mistake, what makes it obvious is that they left it up so long (days!). A pricing mistake is when someone leaves a digit off the front or puts a decimal in the wrong place. This was an intentional ploy. It's a guerrilla marketing tactic to drive people to the site and then do a bait and switch with a 15% coupon.

A bad review in a public space is how you handle cancellations like this.

I just completed my charge back request. I am disgusted with this company
I'm only giving it until tomorrow morning in case they did issue it late Friday or over the weekend and it just doesn't show until the next business day (unsure of how a situation like that would work, but I'll perhaps foolishly give them the benefit of the doubt). As someone who has run their own business for over a decade, our refunds are promptly issued when requested or otherwise necessary. In a situation like this, I'd have everyone in the front office working full days over the weekend to straighten out the mess. No pending refund showing tomorrow morning would tell me that they don't view business the same way. I'm not holding my breath, and fully expecting to have to waste even more of my time dealing with this place in the form of charging it back.

Lesson learned, next time a seemingly unicorn deal comes along, I'll only take it if it's from a reputable retailer. At least if they screwed it up in a similar manner, I can probably count on a faster resolution (i.e., refund).

Just wondering if anyone actually tried to call the merchant, TAG? I've been following this thread from the sub 50 TU's beginning up until the deal ended with over 260 TU's and finally imploded only a few days later.

It seems that TAG of CA was acquired by LCI in NC. The story behind LCI is interesting and some of you might want to read it and at least try to give LCI a call before you file chargeback disputes. As a general note on chargebacks, you typically have 3 to 4 months after you were supposed to RECEIVE the product to file a dispute... so, you have plenty of time.

Please read this first tho:
TAG® was founded in 2001 in a 1,000 square foot retail shop in Imperial Beach, CA. In 2010 TAG® was acquired by LCI and has grown to become a worldwide best in class product supplier for the outdoor, shooting, hunting and tactical gear market place. LCI which is head-quartered in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina is the largest employer of people who are blind in the world. Founded in 1936 LCI mission has been the same "to provide meaningful employment for people who are blind." This mission is our passion and the drive behind everything our company does. LCI owns 38 Base Supply Centers strategically located throughout the United States on military bases. These stores support and supply the best fighting forces the world has ever known.
Manufacturing is the backbone of our company. All TAG® and LCI tactical gear and products are 100% made in America and Berry Compliant. We stand behind everything we make with a 100% lifetime warranty. Using an excellence from experience approach, we hand select every item using our in-house industry experts. Whether it's your passion or your profession, TAG® has all of the tactical gear you need to perform with confidence.
TAG® and LCI have a staff of more than 800 dedicated professionals standing by ready to serve your needs. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

I guess we do have a rep working hard on here thumbs downing any negative comments, if only they were that diligent about the refunds! 🤣
I received a cancelation and refund email on Thursday morning, still no refund on my card as of Sunday night, tomorrow if nothing shows I will start the process with challenging this fraudulent charge. 🙄 *sigh*

No, I did not try calling, but others in this thread have to no success, and I emailed them but they just sent back a generic cancelation and refund email.

I also have not received any refund for my order as of this morning so I called Capital One to see about having the charge removed. They told me the merchant has 15 days to process a refund and that I could technically request a chargeback now, but it would be better to wait. I told them I'd wait until next week and they put a note on that charge to help expedite things if/when I have to call them back about it.

Okay, curiosity got the best of me on this. I called the 877-524-3478 phone #. The automated response identified the number as belonging to LCI. I hit whatever number it was for Returns, and to my surprise, an automated voice stated "You. Are. Number. 1. In...." whatever, line, or queue, but within seconds a female voice that sounded domestic (not overseas) politely answered the phone. I ended the call without actually asking any questions, but it confirmed what I suspected... nobody is actually bothering to call.

*Note - I am not blaming everyone that bought in on this deal and had their cards charged prior to shipment. That was TAG's and LCI's fault. I'm merely confirming that this appears to be a legit American business that may have screwed up royally, but sounds like a good corp citizen being one of the largest employers of the blind... maybe at least try to give them a call before you file your chargeback disputes.

If you're implying I have anything whatsofrigginever to do with this merchant, the answer is a resounding NO. I've never even heard of this company, prior to this deal being posted. Also, I've posted hundreds of deals and did not post this one... have an almost 3k rep... do you really think I'm a shill?

After reading the company's backstory, I guess I actually felt a small, small tingle of empathy for their situation.

Hahahaha... I get downvoted for that comment!? Do what the hell you want... file a chargeback dispute. Maybe you can put them out of business or get employees laid off. Don't bother trying to make an actual phone call! How ridiculous... do what you want, I'm done.

If it's true that refunds are only processed on the 20th / 21st of the month, then this company is more inept at communicating information than I would have thought possible. I just looked at their email again, no mention of such -- but here's what it DID say:

"We apologize for the inconvenience. Your order, ******, has been cancelled, and your card used for the purchase has been refunded."

When you state that, yet 5 days later there is no pending refund or otherwise -- I'm not sure that it warrants my waiting any longer to see if they ever decide to issue it on their own accord.

While I certainly commend them for their hiring practices, they should invest equal time thinking of ways to avoid destroying their reputation. All they would have had to do is state any pertinent information in their automated email, such as:

-Refunds will typically show up within 7-10 business days.

Or

-We issue refunds on the 20th of each month.

Anything other than "...your card has been refunded", when that has not been the case. Had they done so, while still annoying, I simply would have put it on my To Do list to follow up on it at the time that they specified to ensure it had been done.

Just got another email from them telling me my order is cancelled and also now includes the coupon code with a huge list of items coupon doesn't work on.

Also it says this: On behalf of the TAG team, we apologize for the inconveniences caused by your recent orders for items:
- Item 814209, Squirt PS4 Red Alum Box
- Item 907666, Super Tool 300 SS Prem Box

But we didn't buy these, we bought the better leatherman.
Anyways, ordered on the 19th, first email about cancellation on the 23th, today is the 27th, still no refund on my credit card.

TBH, I completely forgot about this order. I only checked here again after I received an email from them offering a 15% off coupon. I didn't recognize the email or the company and had to search my emails. I thought someone was phishing me... lol The email also stated I had this other item in my order which I didn't and I just checked on their site in my order history and confirmed it didn't.

Item 814209, Squirt PS4 Red Alum Box

However, I did just check my CC and it was refunded today. Today I get the refund and I got their email apology. Coincidence? Lol
