Not much of a deal this was listed for 999.99 when amazon first posted it then inflated price to 1049.99. I would wait till it drops lower.

It should drop to $900 during black Friday. I'm looking for the same with RTX 3060 for about $1000 range. It may not come down to $1K point however I'm hopeful that supply will increase in coming months.

May be a good idea to keep an eye for the Dell G15 with 165Hz IPS Screen, 5800H and RTX 3060. I posted it couple of times at $1080, before the BIOS upgrade which enabled the MUX switch. Now, it is over $1300 but it may come down to 1K to 1.1 K range.

Nope. This is way overkill in CPU performance and completely useless overkill GPU for general use. You would be well suited for a $600-$800 laptop, depending on what your desires are, like you can get an OLED screen laptop in that range, a thin and light ultrabook, a thinkpad with a great keyboard, a 17" screen if you dont really plan to move it, etc.

I mean it's nice to have a GPU and have some extra oomph for hardware accelerated browsing and such…but you'll pay in battery life. I believe this has hybrid mode where you can use the included APU on the 5800h. My Legion 5 Pro has the same setup but unsurprisingly still gets dogsh*t battery life ~3hrs with low everything.
