I use to work for Vigoro (Estech General Chemicals) and we sold to retail and golf courses. Golf courses loved us as we sold an extended release fertilizer (3 month feed vs Scotts (2 month feed). The best fertilizer to use would be a 10-10-10 and the cost will be 2/3 less and do a great job and you shouldn't need to feed your lawn until late spring. I never use a combined weed and feed as the weed chemicals they use are not good for full coverage.

Use a liquid weed killer as it gives you better coverage for weeds. Use a product called TRIMEC (Ace Hdw brand), it works on plant surfaces and it is much safer. It uses 24-D, Dicamba, and MCPP and it has a synergistic effect and creates a new chemical called TRIMEC. Much safer for the enviroement and if you have a well system it will NOT soak through the ground and potentially contaiminate your drinking water system. If you're looking for a deep green in your lawn use a shot of Ironite. Lawns occasiuonally need iron to make fertilizers more effecttive.

Sadly no. I normally use Milorganite and weed killer in the spring but didn't this yr because a report came out saying Milorganite has forever chemicals in it. My plan was to de-thach and over seed this week and in oct use a fall weed and feed. Now I'm not sure what to do. We have a well so I try to be careful on using chemicals in the yard.

Shouldn't it be the other way around. Weed and feed and the over seed a few months after?

The new seed will be up before I use the weed and feed. I already nuked the few areas that had more weeds than grass a few weeks back.

Thought this would be good to help clear out my clovers that have taken over. I'm going to try this stuff on a small area and see how it works

check your local walmart's garden center clearance for this. mine has the 5k sqft bags for $8, along with plenty of other seed and fertilizer. unfortunately, it doesn't look like walmart carried lawn lime this year.
