I know this probably isn't going to be helpful for people looking at this product in particular, but at the beginning of the pandemic I ran out of liquid soap and didn't want to venture to the store to get cheap refill so I started using bar soap at my sinks and it is wayyyyyy cheaper. I can get 3 bars of soap for a dollar at the dollar store and those seem to last forever. Probably last 3x as long or more as a dollar worth of liquid soap. Also, it didn't dry my hands nearly as much as the liquid soap. Never going back to liquid.

Hmm. While i appreciate the sentiment about not wanting to see "deals" that amount to a run of the mill sale (like this one), you sound awfully particular and demanding. "Jumping through hoops" is more often than not exactly how the best deals are achieved- i.e. ones that are more than run of the mill sales. And subscribe and save really is about the easiest "hoop" to deal with there is. If you arent even willing to do that but still want great savings you probably shouldn't bother with SD at all. Ive done 5+ item subscribe and save for ~10 years, skipping maybe a handful of months in that time. They email you a reminder. It is hard to forget. And even if you do there usually are a number of days between the deadline and when items actually ship when you can still cancel.

Anecdotal story but last time I got one of these off Amazon, there was a small hairline crack at bottom which I initially overlooked but caused a slow leak over a month resulting in a big soap puddle at bottom to my bathroom cabinet. So inspect container properly

What is the brand of the bar soap? We buy these expensive Dove hand wash liquid soap and they seem to run out quickly. Thanks

Absolutely, and I think to anyone age 35+ this is totally obviously because liquid soap (like body wash) became popular in our lifetimes. But it's always fun to "discover" an old tradition that makes you wonder why we changed…I feel like that every time I read a newspaper. It's like a novelty.

With soap, it was just convenience and less mess.

I love the smell of basil, but this soap smells nothing like basil. I found the smell of this soap disgusting, but obviously some like it.

I buy Palmolive hand soap at the dollar store, but I have also been using the white dial because it can be cheap with Walgreens deals or on Amazon every once in a while. They all seem to last way longer than liquid soap and none of them dry my hands out like the cheap liquid soap. Same goes for bar soap vs. body wash in the shower.
