The filter is huge. It takes up the majority of the pitcher and you end up getting 2 glasses of water from it.
Not only that but half the time the filters don't work and water doesn't come through them. I had this problem so many times I gave up on zero water and went with Brita .

I started using way too many ZeroWater filters. When they work, they're awesome. Unfortunately, they go bad quickly sometimes and end up with a fishy taste and smell, prompting me to replace a filter that is only a couple of weeks old. I went to Brita and they don't really filter all that much. I just bought an AquaTru and hooked it up a couple of days ago after seeing the recent Project Farm video.

I used ZeroWater for years and NEVER had that problem. Sometimes when you install a new filter you'll see air bubbles trapped in the mesh in the top of the filter. Tap it a few times and everything works as intended.
The filters are only rated for 20 gallons, and that will vary depending on the quality of the water you put in.
Watch the Project Farm water filter test. ZeroWater performs very well.
That said, if you're able to install a reverse osmosis system under your sink, it's worth it in added convenience and filter cost savings.
I think it's because the pitcher is clear and algae starts growing inside left in a bright kitchen with windows that changes the taste like a fish tank.
I have the Hydroviv (seen on Sharktank) undersink refrigerator filter connected to a Kohler bar faucet and it gave me very clean tasting water for 6 months. I did have to email them to tell me what my customized filter consisted of.
i have ZeroWater in my office and house. This is a lot more effective than a Brita (which is just carbon). It even removes fluoride and the 'forever' chemicals. This is on their website: Zerowater also removes glyphosate, microplastics and PFOS/PFOA from your tap water
The quality of your water will determine how long the filters last. Mine last a long time but you can go to their site and type in your zipcode and you'll see what your starting point is: https://zerowater.com/pages/what-is-tds

I have tried tapping , taking it out and shaking it numerous times. This always happens to me when new , maybe I am just unlucky. I have called zero water several times about the issue with no help from them. When they do work I will admit they work well but its just not worth the hassle for me as it happened so many times now .
