At this price, there is no reason to go with a 1600 x 900 screen and a spinning drive. OD really seems to go out of their way to hide the specs. Apparently it's an IdeaPad 3-17ITL6 Laptop - Type 82H9 - Model 82H90010US - Specs [lenovo.com]. One channel of memory with 4GB is soldered. 17.3" HD+ (1600x900) TN 250nits Anti-glare, 60% NTSC

Better to pay $50 more and get the HP at Staples with a 512GB SSD already installed; 1920 x 1080 screen; 11th gen quad-core processor; upgradeable memory (both channels socketed); and room to add another SATA drive if you want.

Also note this if you have a Chase Freedom card.

The dual core 11th gen has notably lower performance than the quad core in the HP:

Yea, but the HP is an HP (not a very good brand in my experience). If any other brand, II would agree with you.
I have a 9 year old HP laptop that has been used heavily EVERY day and still works like new. In my experience HP is rock solid.

HP and Lenovo are very comparable in terms of overall quality, especially at this price point.

Maybe so, but HP laptops and computers in the past have really let me down. Its a case of screw me over once, shame on me, screw me over twice, shame on HP for life--or something like that. Sort of like American cars vs Japanese cars.

Not really, Apple is expensive and built with quality, HP tailors to the low end market, just look up any cheap laptops on Walmart, Best Buy, Staples, etc. they tend to be HPs.

With a terabyte HDD this seems like a pretty good deal if you're looking a 17" screen.
