If his device had broken 5 months ago and he returned it, that's one thing. But, to go and return it because there's suddenly a different device? "Come on, man." It's literally the reason why they changed the unlimited return policy to 90 days for electronics, because people were grossly taking advantage of it.

Unless my calculations are off, 75w output could power a 8ohm 88db sensitivity consumer speaker up to 8.66 meters away. Typical home theater rooms isn't that big and most don't listen at 88db so plenty of juice.
The number of people running their systems at THX reference levels are miniscule compared to the general public who do have AVRs and speakers. Most of them will already have a solid understanding of equipment and power requirements or paid a professional with that knowledge to set their systems up for them. I'm also guessing most of them will not be on here looking for deals on entry level AVRs or speakers though. Well, not for their primary systems at least.
i didn't have any of the box material, just picked the TSR 700 and drop in a paper box. guys at costco didn't even blind an eye and did a refund. all i said was HDMI problem requires board swap, and he was like "and that never happened".
no check serials, not even looking at the device. this makes me glad that i did all my major purchases from costco even though their price aren't always the best.
anyhow, everything works right off the bat with Denon. no stupid mode 1 or mode 2 selection or strange ARC not working. i am glad that i took your advice
How could anyone else answer that? Someone else would need to know why you wanted the 960, what it has over the 760 that you value, and if $225 plus tax is worth your time and effort. I don't think anyone else could possibly know any or all of those things.

Also, you cannot really get the full experience of 4K and sound using a Fire TV. This is something I've just recently learnt myself and I've been loving my Fire TV cube and the prior generations.
However, when I heard that I switched to Shield TV and using Plex for 4K content and it's major upgrade to Netflix or HBO Max 4K streaming.
Lossless audio is quite a feast to the ears if you have good speakers and AVR.

The problem that I have is that the receiver is under powered. I have to increase volume to 65 and I think at 75W this is normal? I wish this was 105W .. thoughts on 3700H as urlhasbeenblocked offered 1149.. or wait for NR7100 and use this as stop gap till then

Search this thread for my previous posts and you will be able to calculate how much power you will truly need. Most people will not need 75W/CH in real world use.
