Found it at the following link. It's called Citi merchant offers.

Not sure, but on both accounts, it only showed the usual flex pay and other crappy offers they're constantly emailing about.

You have the right to escalate your issue to supervisor level, and that's what my brother did during the the call. Most Level 1 CSRs are trained to answer just basic questions and not capable of any complicated issues. In this case, a supervisor has to step in.

Looks like the 10/5 BB $200 transaction folks are out of luck. They will NOT be getting the credit.

Contacted CSR THRICE. No good response. Half of them don't even see the offers.

Last one said: It's a "MERCHANT OFFER" . It's given by BestBuy - Citi has nothing to do with it. Basically there is no record of the offer being redeemed in their system and hence no credit.

They say it's Bestbuy's fault. Never mind that anyone after 10/6 already got the credit.

I'm going to give up now. $50 down the drain. Citi's CS is absolutely PATHETIC. Most of the CSRs have no clue what the offers are, and they make up all kinds of crap. Citi really does suck.

What did Best Buy tell you?
Bestbuy have no idea. They say they don't see $50 off in their system or anywhere else.
Asked that you contact the Credit card company.

Also told me that the GC will not be returned under any circumstances. My Amazon GC is still in the packing. I haven't even opened or applied to my account. They said no returns.

I tried asking them to escalate. They said a Supervisor will call you. No one did and it's been 2 days.

Called again, then they transferred me to IT techinical support. Then online support department. Then customer service back again. Took over an hour and the last lady said
"Sir - these are merchant offers. We can't see them in our system. We can't help you. Citi does NOT deal with Merchant offers. Contact your merchant. I don't see any offer for you" .

I'm just tired of this crap. I've called them thrice now, and spend 4-5 hours on the phone. Citi sucks.

I'm going to CANCEL my Citi card and use SoFI 2% credit card instead. I've been a Citi Double cash customer right from the year the card was launched. But clearly they don't care about a decade long relationship. And pathetic clueless CS.

I've used Chase offers, Amex offers and the redemption happens in days. And even if there is a problem, the CSRs fix it asap.

The final thing you can do is file a $50 dispute on the Best Buy credit card charge. Show all your documentation.

Maybe a 50 percent chance that they will issue a credit.

Don't cancel your card. If you do, it means you are raising a white flag. Just keep the card but don't give them business, only take advantage of their offers. Citi cards still have some decent offers on Amazon once awhile. In the meantime, file a complaint with BBB. This will force Citi to reply to BBB and I think you will win the case since you have all the screenshots to prove that you are entitled to the $50 credit but Citi refuses to honor.

You're right. Cancelling the card is maybe not the best idea.
I've never had to use Citi CS before, but wow it's really bad.
I would say Amex, Chase, Discover etc are waay better.

AMEX and Discover have top notch customer service because their call centers are located domestically. The CSRs are the locals speaking fluent English and tend to be more knowledgeable. The reps from overseas call centers just read out a script and pretend to answer your questions.

You should be good. As far as I know, other than those whose charges posted on 10/5, everyone else got their credit.
Citi randomly decided to screw over the 10/5 guys.

It doesn't hurt to write an email to the CEO of Citi.
I wrote one yesterday to the CEO of FedEx, and someone actually called me back. LOL.
