I got super unlucky here, I purchased a 2nd round of gift cards in-store on 10/5 and the offer never credited. Based on the replies in this thread and past experiences with Citi support, I didn't bother calling.
I purchased $200 more (now I'm at $600 of amazon GCs) in-store and the offer finally went to redeemed once that purchase posted
the offer still shows as available on a 2nd card, I will be buying one last round on that card
Not sure I understand.
You used the offer first. And then tried again on 10/5?
If you already used the offer before - it wouldn't work on 10/5 obviously.
The T&C say - it's a ONE time use offer.

Read the original message I quoted.
Attempt 1 - single online GC purchase posts as 2 separate $100 charges and doesn't trigger bonus because BB sucks
Attempt 2 - in-store GC purchase on 10/5 doesn't trigger bonus because Citi sucks
Attempt 3 - in-store GC purchase last week finally triggered the offer
The data points here are
- online GC purchases shouldn't be used for this offer
- in-store purchases on 10/5 didn't trigger the offer
- it does trigger in-store for purchases after 10/5

Thanks. What a EPIC fail from Citi.
I had a 10/5 as well. Now I'm sitting with $200 Amazon GC at cost. No $50. And Not returnable.
Did not see this offer but it lures one into opening a checking account to earn up to $1500 bonus.
By the way, does anyone know which Citi Card offers the double extended warranty for a product purchased, like the Citi Double Cash Card offered before?

Do you think this offer will work if one makes multiple purchases in store?
So for example - you buy 3 items totalling to $200? Does this need to be a single purchase?

It doesn't have to be a single "item"… as long as your total is above the spending requirement in a single "purchase", it'll count.

Premier, Rewards+, Prestige, AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite, AAdvantage Mileup, AT&T Access and -my favorite- Citi ThankYou Preferred.
I keep getting an error message when I use the Merchant Offers Link, and have nothing but Flex Pay stuff on the regular card offers. Anyone else experiencing? I am sure it's addressed in the 28 pages of comments, but I can't go through all of them. Thanks!

Try using this link. Was posted on one of those pages and worked for me when the typical way of getting to my Citi offers didn't:
I appreciate the link, but it is still making no difference for me, in any browser. Each time I try, I get a super-brief flash of the offer page, and then this:
