Service is awesome.. no doubt.. convenience to kick off wherever and whenever you want.. mobile, tablet, TV with chromecast is really great. Especially... when leading busy life with kids.

Only downside is game collection is not so great.. and often they are very expensive. Their pro subscription at 10 bucks a month is not at all justifiable.

Definitely not worth for full time gamers. Casual gamers playing only a handful of games like me .. 60 bucks for a game and chromecast is well worth it.

They have servers all over the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goo...th_America

In my experience it is neither slow nor laggy if you have reliable home internet.

Uh, it's a digital game, how exactly are you going to do that? And it's a digital game that only works with Stadia, at that.

I think on Reddit grace from Google confirmed you can use the coupon but I'd read into to make sure

Yeah i found out that you can use the $10 promo but the game has to be more then 69.99 so you get 59.99 after the promo, and there's no way you can get rid of that $10 promo too. I wanted to get the RDR2 but can't now because of that $10

I chatted with a customer service rep and they confirmed that I would get a second one even though I got my first one. The $10 coupon would also apply. Here's the transcript below.
Thanks for posting this. I have the same credit. I was actually interested in some of the $60 games but with the credit it sounds like those won't be eligible. Is there a way to not apply the credit at checkout? None of the $70 games catch my eye.

I'm a Stadia user who's had issues with it but stays with it.

First: FAQs:

1. What's this deal?

This deal is "some hardware comes with purchase of a $60+ Stadia game". Normally, that purchase wouldn't come with the hardware

2. What's the Hardware?

A Chromecast Ultra and a Stadia Controller. Also, maybe comes with some extra free stadia pro months beyond the norm - I didn't check.

3. What can I sell?

Not the game. Game is tied to your account. You can sell it the way you can sell your whole google account. In fact, I guess you can sell it BY selling your whole google account. I'm pretty sure that's against terms of service, and probably not something most people want to do.

You can sell the controller. There's been a lot of free deals - you can probably get $10-15 for it, shipped.

You can sell the chromecast ultra. Dunno what they go for, but if you intend to use this to play a game on a laptop (for example), that's a fine choice.

4. Do I need a Stadia Pro Console to play?

No. Stadia is a cloud gaming system - you need internet. Fast, responsive internet. And a chromecast + TV or computer (or phone, though... not the best experience) to play. And a controller of some kind, unless you want to use your keyboard.

Don't use your keyboard. Except maybe to test how your home internet works with the service.

5. What's the difference between Stadia and Stadia Pro?

Stadia is Google's cloud game streaming service. Stadia Pro is a monthly subscription tier (~$10 / month) that offers (theoretically) better service. Better service consists of higher resolution video, and a bunch of rotating free games (but once you have a free game you have it forever - strong incentive to keep paying that monthly $). My bandwidth isn't good enough to get 4K I appreciate, and I tend to play AAA titles through to completion. But if you rotate games every week and lean indie, might be worth it for you.

That end's my FAQ from this thread.

My experience:

With not-that-great broadband, it's alright. I've never had it work well on the TV. It works pretty well from my computer. There's some lag occasionally, which is terribly annoying for single player titles, and worse for multiplayer titles. Significantly lower quality than equivalent video streaming.

Check their titles - they have a super limited selection - mostly Ubisoft AAAs.

Got a lot of press re: Cyberpunk, you can read it - basically, the big muscular cloud machines did a good job with it, suggesting the devs didn't optimize heavily for the existing consoles. Okay.

Pros: Cheap, portable, future-proof (Google can always update the cloud servers with a flip of a bit)

Cons: HEAVILY bandwidth and latency-dependent. Very limited game selection. Some online games only link with other Stadia players. Google could change its commitment to Stadia without much warning, and has abandoned products in the past.

What's the best game here? I've been looking to try stadia
If you love first person shooters, I think the Doom games are excellent, the downside is they aren't full price so it wouldn't qualify for this particular deal.

This is an adult's console. Do not buy it for your kids- the online community is non-existent here. Your kids want to play COD or whatever they play nowadays online. This is the *perfect* console(?) for single player though.

Someone feel free to correct me but I don't think so. Believe Ray Tracing is only available on GeForceNow.

No, it requires an internet connection to play, there is no downloading. The advantage is you can play it anywhere on any connected device without extra hardware.

what is the benefit of stadia controller/chromecast vs. having stadia android app installed directly on TV box and using xbox elite controller that I already have and I believe can connect to stadia app via BT?
