My wife and I have 4 pairs each spanning multiple models. They are all extremely comfortable, we haven't had any color fading problems and they are machine washable.
I will say the two complaints I have is that I wore out the soles on my first pair (but that was with constant wearing over a year) and the wools are only winter shoes for me since they are very warm.
About two years ago I gave a few colleagues a pair after an offsite they helped me plan (pre-covid). At that offsite, almost everyone there asked me "what are those shoes you are wearing" which i had on with slacks, or jeans or shorts. I told them Allbirds, and I bought a couple pairs for the colleagues I mentioned. By the NEXT offsite two months later, HALF of the group had bought their own and wore them frequently during the offsite. (Mind you, I'm certainly a THOUGHT leader but hardly an INFLUENCER and wasn't their boss so they couldn't have been trying to curry favor). As the year 2019 and into 2020 passed, in the office, traveling, etc, I could tell that most of them were still wearing the shoes frequently.
I always wear them when traveling, domestic and international. pulling a carry on, carrying a large backpack, they provide at least enough support for me to RUN to the gate when needed. Easy on and off for that rare occasion when I have let take my shoes off. Even when a bit sweaty they wick it away well. Once every six months they go in the washer and I let them air dry outside.
It is NOT a high arch support running or walking shoe, but if you're not in the category its totally fine and won't be any problem. The slipper version has less support though and should only be for more an home or Starbucks runs. (First world problem for sure).
For the $95 that they sell most pairs for, I find it very good value and certainly NOT a luxury. With this $50 off coupon I'll certainly get a couple pair (one for me and one for wife) and will hold out till an interesting color shows up. They do release limited edition colors which are fun and eclectic but sell out QUICKLY. I'm pretty sure this $50 off is a bit of an effort to boost sales going into what will be their first quarter reporting as a public company. Everyone wants to beat their estimate first one out of the gate.
I don't have any financial interest in this company, but do know some people who HAVE worked their in the past. And I will add, when they are public I WILL most likely buy some shares. So, at some point I will be incentivized to see them succeed, but at this point frankly my review and recommendation is truly ONLY for YOUR benefit. ;-)
Update: one point I forgot to add is that their customer service, at least historically has been EXCELLENT. Think BOSE or NORDSTROM quality customer service. If you buy the shoes and they just don't work out, support is bad, you get a hole for some reason in the toe (I have never had this will all my pairs yet) you contact them and they will refund you the money, sometimes without even needing to send them back. so, the downside if one doesn't like them is pretty limited from a loss standpoint.
