Anyone come here wondering what allbirds was?
I know the description already says "exclusive" for Sapphire Reserve, but I confirmed it's not valid for Sapphire Preferred members in case anyone else was wondering the same thing.
rarely do I see a discount for allbirds. this is great!

These shoes literally have zero tech in them. Any basic pair of shoes from a sportswear company is guaranteed to offer more support and usually will be priced lower.

Nope, they're the "X10 Spy Cam" of modern internet banner advertising. Your ad blocker is probably a lot more effective than mine Wink

The only time I've seen them discounted was during the height of the pandemic last year, they gave away a number to healthcare workers and then gave significant discounts to those who couldn't snag a free pair.
Guess I missed out. Not sure how many were subsidized by customers though. Looks like there were direct donations and customers that paid for half. If you're gonna split the cost, you should do it at half of what the shoes actual price is, not plus markup. Although I also don't think it's a requirement for companies to do this anyways. I'd rather them stop doing this if it meant everyone could stop using "healthcare heroes" to justify treating HCW's like shit.

My wife loves her 2 pairs of All Birds and highly recommends them. With similar feedback from others.
FYI, They are rarely on sale.

Works for me. Very light shoe can wear with or with out socks. These aren't meant for running I assume but I use them for daily work wear in scrubs. So works for me.

Does Allbirds ever do any kind of promotion? I don't remember seeing such thing before
They have an outlet store near San Francisco. That's literally the only place I've ever seen them discounted (about 20% on older models)

Never knew they had an outlet store! That is great info. Next time I am in that area I will have to stop.

My wife and I have 4 pairs each spanning multiple models. They are all extremely comfortable, we haven't had any color fading problems and they are machine washable.

I will say the two complaints I have is that I wore out the soles on my first pair (but that was with constant wearing over a year) and the wools are only winter shoes for me since they are very warm.

Allbirds are great. I have two pair that have lasted years. Since they are wool — you can wash them really easily & they don't really pick up stink. I wear mine without socks

I bought a pair of wool pipers about a month ago, wore them on a 2 mile walk out of the box and they were super comfortable and didn't get any blisters. They were $95 so it's probably hard to spend $150 unless you buy two pairs, so this only works out to 25% off which is still decent if you were already planning to buy two pairs

I've had some discounts sent from Allbirds in the past, 10% off 20% off, but I think they were single use codes and not overall codes. I will say, they are indeed some of the most comfortable and FUNCTIONAL shoes I have ever worn. They are NOT technical, although i do wear their running oriented shoe for distance walking (20+ miles a week). I currently have 7 pairs of shoes, one pair of the slippers for around the home use, five pair of the lace up regular version and one pair of their wool mizzle dasher (a "running" shoe with some water resistance). I wear this shoe more than any other at this point. My oldest pair of classic wool runners I have had about 4+ years? I still wear them, the soles are still good. I've washed them only a couple times and replaced the insoles once. they are still in the rotation.

About two years ago I gave a few colleagues a pair after an offsite they helped me plan (pre-covid). At that offsite, almost everyone there asked me "what are those shoes you are wearing" which i had on with slacks, or jeans or shorts. I told them Allbirds, and I bought a couple pairs for the colleagues I mentioned. By the NEXT offsite two months later, HALF of the group had bought their own and wore them frequently during the offsite. (Mind you, I'm certainly a THOUGHT leader but hardly an INFLUENCER and wasn't their boss so they couldn't have been trying to curry favor). As the year 2019 and into 2020 passed, in the office, traveling, etc, I could tell that most of them were still wearing the shoes frequently.

I always wear them when traveling, domestic and international. pulling a carry on, carrying a large backpack, they provide at least enough support for me to RUN to the gate when needed. Easy on and off for that rare occasion when I have let take my shoes off. Even when a bit sweaty they wick it away well. Once every six months they go in the washer and I let them air dry outside.

It is NOT a high arch support running or walking shoe, but if you're not in the category its totally fine and won't be any problem. The slipper version has less support though and should only be for more an home or Starbucks runs. (First world problem for sure).

For the $95 that they sell most pairs for, I find it very good value and certainly NOT a luxury. With this $50 off coupon I'll certainly get a couple pair (one for me and one for wife) and will hold out till an interesting color shows up. They do release limited edition colors which are fun and eclectic but sell out QUICKLY. I'm pretty sure this $50 off is a bit of an effort to boost sales going into what will be their first quarter reporting as a public company. Everyone wants to beat their estimate first one out of the gate.

I don't have any financial interest in this company, but do know some people who HAVE worked their in the past. And I will add, when they are public I WILL most likely buy some shares. So, at some point I will be incentivized to see them succeed, but at this point frankly my review and recommendation is truly ONLY for YOUR benefit. ;-)

Update: one point I forgot to add is that their customer service, at least historically has been EXCELLENT. Think BOSE or NORDSTROM quality customer service. If you buy the shoes and they just don't work out, support is bad, you get a hole for some reason in the toe (I have never had this will all my pairs yet) you contact them and they will refund you the money, sometimes without even needing to send them back. so, the downside if one doesn't like them is pretty limited from a loss standpoint.

Only the most comfortable shoe I've ever purchased. It's especially good for all day wear when traveling. Eco-conscious materials is just an added bonus.
