Not all sets are worth the price. That's why I only listed the ones that are worth buying. Thanks

I ordered a Gotham pan exclusively for cooking soft over medium eggs over butter. First try, eggs stuck to three points on the pan. Second time half the egg. Third time the whole thing. Could barely scrape it off. So I returned and got a replacement.

Second pan, first egg...great. Second egg stuck at a few points. Third time, half the egg and so on. I returned it and did not try them again.

Most people I know who own them, swear by Gotham. They praise them. My experience is evidently somewhat unique.

Eggs sticking to a pan are very rarely the pans fault and more about cooking technique. Using a medium heat (for heating evenly) get the pan to smoking hot, then reduce heat to low (for over medium eggs). Try to get eggs to room temp before cracking. Use lots of butter.

Any of these pan real good? Need 1 almost now(within this week or so). Mostly for medium to high flame cooking. Tried T-Fal from Costco didn't last 3-4 months.

Don't want to cheap out but also not want to spend $50-100.

TIA

I agree, 100%

In this case, I blame the pans. I'd like to think they were just defects. I had called Gotham before I received my second pan to make sure I wasn't using them incorectly. I'd estimate that I've prepared over 20,000 eggs in my life so far, I wouldnt mind someone telling that their pan requires special circumstances to be non-stick...I can probably comply. Unfortunately, out of the many styles of pans I've prepared eggs on, Gotham was the only unusable. Many pans had a slight time learning curve, none stuck like a Gotham

If someone out there makes eggs on a Gotham everyday and it never sticks, I'd love to hear it and I'd probably try them again.

1. Your item does not qualify for Free Shipping. Macy's offers F/S at 25.

2. Set on pic is $38.25 with 3 promos applied (VIP Code, 10% CB From SD AND %15 Discount from GC deal). The $38.25 price from this post includes taxes AND Free Shipping.

Your post is short a few bucks for FS.

Gotham steel has higher review ratings than T-Fal on Macy's AND Amazon.

I have filtered the results and found you the cheapest pan that will ship for free using code VIP ( you can also stack the SD CB and GF offer to this), as below:

I recommend you try the hammered copper (coated) pans. As it is copper is not a cheap metal and the hammering helps with high heat distribution:

https://www.macys.com/shop/produc...isDlp=true

You can also try the platinum (coated) pans as a second option.
https://www.macys.com/shop/produc...isDlp=true

The 2 options given are just for you try the brand, then later you can jump into a set. 🤷 ♀️ For around $20 (w/3 promos applied) shipped not bad.

Oh that's not great then. I'd probably avoid using these pans for anything that might stick and save the eggs for cast iron or seasoned carbon steel. I know some kinds of metal are very prone to sticking. I only use my stick-prone (stainless steel) pans these days when I want some sticking, for example to deglaze and make a pan sauce.

These have a copper/platinum colored coatings. There is no actual copper or platinum in these. The cost of materials alone would be hundreds of dollars if they did. The product descriptions explicitly state that these are both made of aluminum. Don't be fooled.
