What the heck is this.... where to look for more info!?

9,853 2,599 October 2, 2021 at 06:43 PM
Okay. So I sometimes shop resale shops and garage sales and have a few items I've picked up... and I can't figure out what they are. Probably something simple to ID for the right person, just not me (or my immediate family.) The question now is, where would be a good place to post a couple pics and ask that question? Could do it here I guess, but I was thinking there might be a site or forum more suited to that kind of thing.

Any ideas?

TIA,
D.

If you post a pic it might narrow where to search. Did you try Google lens?

Well, here's a couple of them, The first one is the one that prompted my posting. To me it appears to have a handle (the rounded end) and a roller portion. Probably made from aluminum, but the handle feels a little heavy for just Al. The 'roller' portion has 5 sides with 8 plastic bumps on each side. My best guess is it's some form of handheld muscle roller. A couple other thoughts that came to mind, but none worth mentioning.

The next is black finished aluminum with two parts. Just under 1" wide and 3.5" tall. What I think of as the base, with a flat bottom and small shaft at the top and a smaller cylinder that fits over the small shaft. The top bits on the small cylinder have a somewhat sharp edge along the sides, but not the tip. So if being rotated might provide some cutting or scraping use. This I was guessing is some sort of punch tool... either making holes in some material or for use with particular fasteners. Again, just guessing as I haven't seen one like this before.

Dont think it would be worth their time. Besides, I don't even know enough about them to decide WHICH 'professional' that might be.
I'm pretty sure they're not anything valuable and I'm not asking for valuations. Just trying to figure out what they are.

The first picture I believe is a 40 Germanium Beauty roller face massage tool that sells for $19.24, I think.

If you figure out the black tool let me know what it is, pretty sure I have one in my garage.

Well done and quick too. Never even heard of them before. There appear to be a number of similar models... probably mostly knock offs of some original that sold well. Really think the little nubs on mine are just plastic of some sort, so probably no Germanium anywhere near it. Good to know regardless.

Heh... found this spec on one of the listings... good for a laugh.

Specification

Germaniums can release -200mv steady stream negative ions. (yes, "Germaniums", plural I guess because they give you so many of the little buggers.)

Features/functions
(Really too many to list them all. Bunch of ridiculous claims like...) anti-aging, preventing blood acidification through release of negative ions, breast augmentation (hey, where you rolling that!?!), improved body immunity and sickness resistance, and even eliminating fatigue.

You need to pair that with wearing some Copper infused compression socks bulb

That will get you some ION's moving from head to toe as I'm sure the copper is positively charged and those negative ION's will be attracted to them socks!!!! laugh out loud
