I recently bought one (200) because I live in a basement And started feeling weak. Prior to gadgets like this, you would leave a container open in the area for a week or a month, and then you get an average for that week or month. And that average can be effected by the weather and people living there. With airthings, you get an average every hour. It might be off by 10%, and your thinking that's crap. But you want radon below 4 units. Mine went up to 9 units... Does it really matter if it's off by 10%. And since I could get measurements every hour I could work out that I basically had to leave the window open with a fan blowing in, was the only way to keep it below 2 units. But if you still want to question accuracy, I could see a clear spike in CO2 right after doing indoor cycling in the basement. It's worth it if you spend any time in a basement, especially if you live in the mountains
If you are engineer. They hace opensource github for API to read all sensor through bt brodcasting. It is easy. You can do manipulation and storing to no-sql db and link to prometheus/grafana.
Again if you are diy and love engineering 😜

2930 is air wave plus, you can look on how to pull data longterm, 7 days, 1 days and current🙂 : https://github.com/Airthings/waveplus-reader
In this case, it's actually an advantage that it's bluetooth and not wifi. They publish a bluetooth API that you can use with a raspberry pi:

https://github.com/Airthings/waveplus-reader

If this was wifi, they'd probably not have a local API and you'll be reliant on their cloud service. With bluetooth, it doesn't matter if the company goes under, this device will keep working.

My wife disputes the accuracy of these... Anyone have a comparison study between this and the "gold standard" long term charcoal tests?

The 2950 is also on sale for $136 on Amazon.

What's the difference between the 2930 and 2950?

I did a charcoal test in my house to compare and it was spot on. It does take a little longer than I'd like for the data to swing when it rains. Contemplating getting the radon eye to compare

I've been worried about this for some time -- going to bite the bullet on the price to alleviate any concerns. Thanks for posting.

Here are some pm2.5 particle sensor precision comparison https://smartairfilters.com/en/bl...s-in-2021/ . But they have not tested Airthings. My takeaway - majority of sensors are not precise, but they should be good enough to tell me if my air filter helping during the period of forest fires smoke coming from California.

Airthings Wave Plus will give you decent sensors for $149. But it lacks display and don't work over WiFi - you'll need to use your phone to get readings every day. If you won't connect to it at least one time a week you won't have history of readings.

AFAIK there are no air quality sensors on market with these features for $150. I'd wish Awair have some discounts, I hope they'll have sale on Black Friday.

Airthings mostly good on radon sensing. Not air healthy. The extra sensors are okay.

You can search what ks radon gas on the net.

I bought standalone airthings radon sensor/tester for $80 total early this year after done with crawlspace upgrade and cleaning.

I have a radon eye that logs samplings every minute. I can view graphs on phone app and there are alarms. While I understand the idea is to capture an average over a month and maintain below 4, having the graphs and minute by minute has allowed me to discover that when it rains we get like a burp of radon gas that spikes up to 12. Knowing this I am able to mitigate when it momentarily spikes by opening windows and/or adding a window fan. I much prefer this additional data. Now I know when to expect the radon and can real time see the mitigation lowering the radon levels. Don't know if this device has that level of granularity but I would not settle for a 1 month average that would not exposed the spikes in my home of radon gas
