If you are deciding on a tool that is naturally power hungry (like circular saws, hacksaws, sawzalls, multi-tool, grinders, blowers, wet/dry vacuums etc) it's always better to go the M18 route vs the M12 route if the tool is available in both platforms. The M12 version for these types of tools will work, but they will have limitations due to providing less torque/power and less runtime.

Apparently I managed to procrastinate myself into not buying something I didn't need to buy, even though I'd really like one. Still not a bad price at 106 or whatever it comes out to after "hack" but 15-20 bucks more than it just was makes the SD'er in me walk away.

This is a "hackable" deal for either battery kit or worklight.

Battery Kit includes
2x 6ah batteries
1x m12 charger

Battery kit hack total = 104.76 (when using store 1055) + tax
Worklight hack total = 94.24 + tax

There are other free tools in this promotion, but the higher-priced items yield a lower overall price for the Battery kit which is the slick portion IMO.

So the good news is the price has dropped again as happened the last time this came up. Right now, for the Newall CA store, it's showing $94.24 for the light Applause

I've used my M12 Rocket light a couple of times recently and man did it burn through my M12 CP 3.0Ah batteries quick. It wasn't really a problem since you can hook up an extension cord to it though.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether getting the M12 6Ah 2 pack on this deal for $120 after hack is a strong deal? I don't really need the M12 charger (I have tons) and much prefer the M12-M18 dual charger to the M12 charger alone but I rarely see just the M12 6Ah battery 2 pack on sale for better than this.

That's essentially 2 for the price of 1 at "full retail". Typically the big boxes don't go much under 100 for a straight up sale of 1 pack. In the secondary market you can get them for 80ish each. 60ish each is about as cheap as they're going to get on anything resembling a regular basis. 10/ah is pretty typically what my "goal" cost is on tool batteries. Anything below that is a big win. If you were willing to sit on your investment you might be able to buy the deal and then sell the rocket light for more than the return value once the sale is over and the other flippers sell out. Or in the past I've even just bought the deal, put the item i didn't want on marketplace quickly for a "good but not great" price and if I can pick up a significant extra $$ sell it there, if not I just return it before the window closes to return.
