I'm always curious how many people actually use wifi on a desktop full sized desktop? I get like a Mini-ITX or NUC, but in a full sized desktop? You don't move them a lot.....
I use wifi on my desktop. It's within about 9 feet of the router, but I don't have a cable that's long enough to reach (also, all the router ports are used up now).

The problem is WiFi and Bluetooth are usually a bundled controller. So no WiFi would also mean no BT from what I have seen.

I use wifi, and my home is wired through an Intel 77q mitx pfsense and distributed via Cisco 3750G and ubiquity access point

The vast majority of homes are not wired for ethernet and wifi is almost always preferred for for new residential construction. It's not really about moving the pc chassis, ethernet is just relatively uncommon where people live.

Can anyone recommend a reasobly priced CPU that will work with this MB? I'm not planning to use it for heavy duty gaming.

unfortunately older house does not have wire connection option in every room.

also keep in mind this is a MATX board, not having on board wifi and need a wifi pci card often means you are blocking the GPU cooling.

I definitely recommend that you get an ethernet switch, and use that to effectively add more ports to your router. Then get yourself another ethernet cable to hook up your desktop PC.

Even if your Wi-Fi is generally fast, a wired ethernet connection is just so much more reliable and stable.

The Ryzen 5 5600G for $260 or 5700G for $360 on amd.com are compatible and would be an excellent fit for your use case. Both have powerful integrated graphics that pair well with the mobos hdmi 2.1 output and are well suited for general power use and light gaming.
